Description

A gorgeous, quiet and spacious place, just at the edge of a beautiful lake! Smôga is a unique holiday paradise at Årjäng in Värmland. The property, a courtyard consisting of several houses by Västra Silen, is a good three acres and has a 250 meter curving coastline with rocks and fantastic views over the three mile long lake. The cabin is a wonderful place for inspiration and relaxation all year round while it is a good place to work/home office. The space The main cabin "Boathouse" is a large combined dining room and kitchen, with grand piano (!) and sofa group with home theater (large screen and projector). The bedroom in the "gallery" has a wonderful view! The "Boathouse" has its own bathroom/toilet. "Stabburet" contains a main room with a double bed (and piano!) and two smaller bedrooms with two single beds on each of them. "Gammelstugan" (the jewel in the crown, 150 years old!) has a bedroom with bunk beds, a loft with one to two beds and a double sofa bed in the living room, fireplace and a simply equipped kitchen. Gammelstugan also has a new extension with bathroom/toilet and washing machine. The spacious wood-fired sauna has a view to the sea. You must bring bed linen and towels yourself. If this is difficult, we can be of assistance for a fee of NOK 200 per set. In summer, we can enjoy meals in one of the many garden furniture groups on terraces and slate slabs, and in winter in light and heat from the stoves both inside and outside. The place has its own sandy beach and sauna and nice outdoor areas with paths, lawn and rocks around the cabins. The property is south facing and you can follow the sun's path from morning to evening, and experience an impressive starry sky and moon pillar in the water at night. Guest access There is a road all the way up, and plenty of space for parking for several cars. Own great sandy beach, and access to canoe and rowing boats. Great opportunities for hiking in the woods, on idyllic forest roads and along the beach. Local environment 10-15 min to Årjäng by car, city center with shop, liquor store, inn and restaurants, as well as dressin rental! During the winter season, the downhill slope in Årjäng is an asset. When it is too cold to swim in Västra Silen, the "Simhallen" with swimming pools and gym is also popular. The golf course in Årjäng is also known as particularly nice. Årjäng is otherwise known for Sweden's oldest trotting track, here you will find both the trotting museum and a pleasant and affordable restaurant. Excursions You can enjoy a real gourmet experience at Thorills in Hämnäs (15 minutes by car). 1 hour north you will find Arvika Cultural Center with the Rakstad Museum (Sweden's Skagen) or southeast to "Not quite" in Fengersfors, an artist collective with its own bakery, art sales, exhibitions, concerts, etc. Other idyllic places nearby are Lennartsfors, Gustavsfors and Bengtsfors. Other things to note We want quiet tenants, preferably couples, couples of friends, families with children. No smoking and no animals. The place is not rented out for parties. Maximum occupancy in winter season is 14 persons. In summer it is possible to accommodate more. Please contact us.
