Areca House is located in Hiriketiya, set back from the busy part of the village, surrounded by palm trees and with beautiful Hiriketiya Beach only a 5-minute-walk away. Hiriketiya Beach is known for its two surf breaks and many different restaurants, cafes and bars, offering both traditional and western food. If you feel like a nice walk through the village and along a quieter beach, Pehembiya Beach is only a 15-minute-walk away and will be an amazing spot to go for a swim or watch the sunset. Areca House is offering two (freshly renovated) private rooms on the first floor with private attached bathrooms. Room 1 is having a private balcony. Both rooms are connected through a corridor and have separate entrances, offering enough privacy to book them individually or as a family. The rooms follow the “less is more” ethos, creating a cozy atmosphere designed to make you feel home, while offering a clean, airy spacious and comfortable space to embrace the slow island life. Located at the front of the property, our spacious and bright Room 1 sleeps two guests in a double bed and features a small but functional private bathroom with a shower (cold water only). Enough space to unpack and unwind, a small fridge and comfortable, clean space is designed to make you feel home away from home, building a bridge between authentic Sri lankan and western living. The high ceilings and the ceiling fan create an airy, cool atmosphere, making your room to the perfect spot to unwind and relax. The private balcony is facing towards a lush jungle property and offers enough space to read, catch up on work, watch the sun go down or be carried away stargazing in clear summer nights.
