Description

At Cnoc Sualtach (Knock-salt-ash), we offer a cosy en suite double room with a king-sized bed. Each morning, we serve a hearty breakfast made with local ingredients in our inviting dining room. Guests can unwind in the lounge, read, enjoy music, or sit by the wood burner. Our home is warm, inclusive, and welcoming, with deep respect for people and nature. We’re just a short walk from the village centre, its friendly shop, scenic paths, and the Cateran Trail and nearby beautiful spots to explore. The space The Green Bedroom is fitted with blackout blinds, essential for Scottish summer nights, and handy 5v USB charger sockets on either side of the bed to charge your devices. We also share our house with one scraggy border terrier, who is in charge of tail wagging. The house was built in 1887 as a sanatorium for TB sufferers (we can tell you all about the history if you choose to stay with us), but it adapts well to provide guests with the privacy they may desire. Guest access When you stay with us, you will have access to your room, the dining room, the lounge, conservatory and Garden. Breakfast is served in the dining room and the lounge is across the hall where you can loll about on the oversized couch. The entrance/conservatory at the front of the house provides plenty of space to store shoes, boots and coats. There is also a small parlour sofa from which you can contemplate the great outdoors. You are welcome to wander about the garden and enjoy spotting the wildlife that lives in abundance around the house. Other things to note The area is full of fascinating gems to visit, as well as the Cataran Trail for keen walkers, but we have our own favourites in the area, like our local pub or the fashionable town of Dunkeld. The Fife Arms in Braemar is a spectacular 40-minute drive over the Cairnwell Pass, which at 670m is the highest public road in the UK. The renowned Persie's gin distillery is also only 15 minutes from the house, where tours and tastings can be arranged. Kirkmichael is well positioned between the former market towns of Blairgowrie and Pitlochry. Registration details PK11953P
