Description

A classic St. Louis old brick two family flat built 1898. Restoration in progress. Chouteau Park across the street & Central West End across the bridge. Walk to Forest Park where all the major museums are or to The Grove entertainment district. This listing is for the private bed room in the very front of the First Floor, there are additional listings on both floors of this building sharing the common spaces. Monthly rate is 1000 USD per month. The space Thanks for your interest in my new building, investing in STL. Here is an update! This is the current rehab status to be aware of: You will occupy the first floor (door on the left). Though the second floor construction is done, details like: painting, window trim and applications, and closet shelving aren't yet in. The first floor has never been rehabbed so all of it needs updating except the kitchen still. Cant predict the future state of the progress of the detailing and remodeling, which will be slow since most of it I am doing it myself in my spare time, which I have little of. This listing is for the Front room in the very front of the apartment right inside the front door. Note as my profile here shows, I have an additional listing for the Master suite room and Loft and couch living room also. These other two listings are often booked at the same time too. My "home" office is located in the front of the building 2nd floor above the front doors. I am usually here working as reception for my buildings. This 1st floor front room is designed for longer term tenant(s). There is entry closet option and section in the bathroom and kitchen as noted in the house manual. You get to have a private furnished bedroom room in a 1500 square foot 120 year old Victorian style apartment, located in high rent district. I provide a real Full size (Double) futon bed. This means if you book for 2 people then then the 2nd person has to share bed or for short term stays only could possibly also sleep additional roll out single beds or Aerobed options. The room has space enough for the additional single beds within it but as a tight fit. The white wireless doorbell to the 2nd floor is the only working one, knock (door on right) or call. Make yourself at home: You can enter without notice to tenant and I or requirement of us being there, just follow the house manual and be mindful and keep the place locked at all times. Note this is an all hard wood floor building as pictured. The 2nd floor where I stay has a strict no shoe policy, but that doesn't mean no creaking in general for 100 year old hardly insulated floors. Noise is entirely random and cant be predicted, may be none, may be some, but should always be reasonable and minimal. ***If you have issue with cleanliness, noise, or anything else during your visit here let me know immediately via a message or in person so I can address the issue, If you dont bring problems to my attention then everything must be wonderful. Guest access to Forest Park: FREE Science Center, FREE Zoo, FREE Art Museum, FREE Missouri History Museum, The Jewel Box botanical $1, The Muny outdoor theater has FREE seats. The Grove Entertainment district on Manchester with a variety of restaurants: Layla, Gramophone, Everest Cafe, Sameems, Atomic Cowboy, Handle Bar, and clubs and bars. Located just South of the Central West End area of the city containing a variety of retail and restaurants, also the Basilica Cathedral. Located just East of The Hill -all intact Italian neighborhood of mostly Italian restaurants (recommend Rigazzi's family or Zias or Gioia's lunch) Located within minutes from downtown St. Louis and City Museum, take Chouteau East (historic route 66) all the way to the riverfront Graffiti Wall Located minutes away from South Grand district, Cherokee Street urban or Cherokee antique row. Free access to Missouri Botanical Gardens, the only other top 10 attraction that is otherwise not free. The new IKEA is just NE a few blocks. During your stay Interaction with guests is flexible we work from home. Zen may be available to be a tour guide of the city depending on how long you are staying or pre-plans we can make or at least give many recommendations. Zen plays the harp and will gladly perform music set for guests. The tenant(s) can help you around the 1st floor, but Zen is your dedicated host and manager of the listing please come to Zen with any concerns or needs beyond 1st floor navigation. Other things to note Spacious backyard, nothing fancy, but quaint for entertaining. Parking: -There is ample street parking opposite side (park side) of the street. The street gets somewhat crowded Mon-Fri 8am to 4pm, but shouldn't be an issue. -Parking along the buildings side of the street is restricted you have to have passes (I do have guest passes but they should not be needed, you should be able to park on the opposite side). -Also once a month there is street cleaning as noted on the street signs, and you cant park during that time I will explain options if that is the case. -FYI: Elsewhere in the city only pay parking meters on Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm (Sunday and Federal holidays are free). note: Indoor Fireplace's arent functional anymore, they just look lovely and are original. Building has central forced heat and air conditioning. Local Urgent Medical Care walk in center off Hampton Ave, alternative to costly ER visits.
