Quiet & Lovely Light-Filled Casita - Santa Monica

Our unique home is close to the beach, Santa Monica Pier, Main Street shopping & restaurants, and the Venice Boardwalk. Guests have said they love the amazing natural light we get throughout the day, our peaceful garden, the overall coziness and serenity of our home, and the quiet neighborhood. Great for families, couples, or even business travelers; we have everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing stay in Santa Monica. The space This is a 1927 Spanish-style home with a lovely garden in an ultra-quiet neighborhood. We are located just outside the hustle and bustle of the iconic Santa Monica Beach & Pier, so you get the best of easy access to numerous tourist attractions while being able to return to our tranquil and comfortable home during your visit. You'll find our home to be different than other spaces - there is nothing sterile or hotel-like about our home. We have shelves of great books, original artwork on the walls, as well as pottery made by us. Throughout the house there are wood floors, beautiful handmade Mexican tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, and lots of windows that allow for plenty of sunlight. Surrounding the house are dozens of wind chimes that add to the peaceful, serene environment. For in-home entertainment there are 2 Roku SmartTVs with access to Netflix and other free channels (PLEASE NOTE - we do not have cable, only streaming apps on the TVs). The master bedroom has a desk with a printer. There is a mesh network with fast and reliable WiFi throughout our home as well as on the back deck. Street parking is by permit only which means there is always parking available (usually right in front of our home). We provide a permit to park on the street during your stay, and ask that you not park in our driveway. If you need an additional parking permit, please let us know before you arrive. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: We have a strict no-party policy. We consider a party any gathering of people at our home who are not listed on your booking. Hosting a party will cost you your entire booking fee and immediately cancel your booking - this is not the place to host a party. We also do not allow film shoots. To avoid confusion, we strongly suggest you read through our House Rules before booking with us (scroll down to the bottom of the listing page - in the Things To Know section, click the Show More link under the House Rules to view the full list). Also, please note that we live here on the property at all times. And though you won't be sharing rooms with us, we will occasionally be in the garden and using the walkway along the side of the house to come and go. Guest access You will have our home to yourselves - living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom. The back deck is yours to enjoy throughout your stay. Other things to note This is an older, well-kept home. Please keep this in mind before booking with us as we ask you to help in our efforts to maintain a home of this age and style. If you're looking for a modern space or something with the convenience of a hotel, then we are probably not a fit for you. If you're interested in peace and quiet, lovely early-20th century architecture, art, and books, then we are definitely for you. We do NOT have a dishwasher.
