Marlin & Big Game Peak (July – October): The primary window for Atlantic blue marlin, white marlin, and spearfish when water temperatures reach around 23°C (73°F). August and September offer the highest concentration of trophy-sized marlin. Guest access Location, location, location. Yes absolutely close to everything. To the left end of Rua Do Bom Jesus is the popular California Pizza restaurante for lunch and dinner, they offer more than just pizza. To the right is the ocean, ferry building the the Avenida that traverses the city front. Walk to the mini marcado, outdoor covered fresh produce market, your groceries are close at hand. The park next to market has swans and benches to enjoy the calmness of this section of Horta. There are taxi cabs that post up here, easy access. Most rides are 5-7euros in town. Around the corner to the right a block down is an amazing cafe/restaurante called Doce Delicioso. One of my favorites for morning pastry and coffee. Their lunches and dinners can be enjoyed indoors or outside. Great for a beverage with a view of the coming and goings of the harbor. Other things to note Roof top patio has a gigantic umbrella for sun protection. It must be tided down because of unexpected but comfortable breezes. Many pleasurable nights are spent enjoying the evening views. A refrigerator is kept chilled for your beverages upstairs. No need to go up and down. Settle in and relax. On comfortable teak lounger chairs. The clock tower is especially beautiful and lit at night.
