Princes Street and the Dean Village and art galleries are 10 minutes walk away (0.5miles), the Conference Centre is 5 minutes walk away (0.25miles) and the Castle and Old Town are 20 minutes walk (1mile). There are numerous excellent restaurants and pubs in the vicinity, and for rugby fans Murrayfield is a 22 minute walk away (1.1miles). The space The space consistes of one room for sleeping, eating and cooking with a separate compact showerroom with WC and washbasin. The mattress is a Continental Double 1.4m wide x 2m and an alcove with a hanging rail is provided instead of a wardrobe. There is a table and chairs and all necessary cutlery, glassware and crockery for two people. The compact oven is both a microwave, a grill and a convection oven although it cannot perform these functions simultaneously. There is underfloor heating and cosy lighting and at night the outside doors must be closed to provide privacy. Whilst the mews courtyard is usually peaceful and quiet, outside on the main streets there are attractive bars, restaurants and shops open until late to meet all your needs. Guest access The location is ideally placed for walking to most attractions. Some out-of-town attractions like the zoo and Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith can be reached by bus or tram from Haymarket. Motorbikes may be parked free in designated bays on Palmerston Place but cars are severely restricted. Apart from loading and unloading (5mins) cars can only park in the mews from 18.30hrs to 8.30am and must not block a garage. Parking meters locally cost £3.90/hr and are limited to 4hrs. There is a multi-storey car park at Castle Terrace, a mile away but within the Low Emissions Zone, or alternatively, cars can be parked beyond the meter zone in Murrayfield, a safe area two miles away (40mins walk). Ideally, arrive by train or plane and leave the car behind. Other things to note Note - for bookings made after 1st Oct 2025 for dates after 24th July 2026 Edinburgh Council has introduced a Visitor Levy of 5% of accommodation costs for up to 5 nights' stay. I will collect this two weeks before arrival through Airbnb. The sofa and pillows contain feathers and are not suitable for anyone with allergies. The WC is a pumped macerator toilet and sanitory towels and dental floss must not be put in the toilet. Only toilet paper and human waste can be flushed down the toilet. The sliding door is heavy to use and some guests may find this difficult. The microwave function cannot be used when the oven is used for roasting, and vice versa. The laminate worktop is not heat or scratch resistant and the cutting boards must be used for hot pans and chopping/cutting food. The adjacent garage is used by a local surveyor's office and cars arrive and depart during weekdays.
