Description

A beautiful and spacious three bedroom villa in Villas La Escondida with a private plunge pool right on the ocean in Puerto Escondido. An amazing 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean and Zicatela Beach. Quiet neighborhood within walking distance to El Centro, Rinconada and Manzanillo beach. Indoor kitchen, open living area, air-conditioning, two bathrooms and three bedrooms, as well as access to two rooftop community pools. High speed fiber optic internet and secure building with 24/7 staffing. The space The villa is in a condo complex that is filled with other renters and owners. THIS IS NOT A GOOD LOCATION TO HOST LARGE GROUPS OR TO PARTY INTO THE NIGHT. The owner community has collectively agreed upon quiet hours and other renters will notify us if you violate quiet hours OR are excessively loud during the day. Quiet hours for the complex are from 10pm to 9am. Please contact us if other guests are disrupting your stay by not respecting the quiet hours and we will get in touch with the owner or rental manager. Loudness varies by culture of origin but we find that being drunk tends to create the most complaints. If you are in Puerto Escondido mainly to party, we recommend a different location than La Escondida. The villas are mostly private due to shrubs and strategic plantings. However, the villas are close together so you will occasionally hear noise from the neighboring units or when the staff are working. Do expect the noise of others during the day, it might be hard for children to nap or for you to take a daytime snooze. On the patio, in the evenings, you can sometimes hear the distant music from the bars on the other side of the bay. The villa itself is an open air concept, so the kitchen, dining, and living room are one open space with large windows/doors that open up into the terrace. Because of the open air design, there are occasionally bugs and geckos. The best way to mitigate bugs in the villa is to keep doors and windows closed, ensure the kitchen is always clean and never leave food out in the open. However, if you get a gecko in the house, leave them alone, they will eat many bugs for you. All rooms have their own AC unit, and a ceiling fan with a bluetooth speaker in it. Guests have access to our ocean front terrace and pools at the top of the complex. Please be considerate of other guests using these areas. Guest access Guests have access to the whole villa. Guests also have access to our private pool and patio with lounge chairs, hammock, and waterfront view of the Pacific Ocean. In addition, guests can access the community rooftop pools and hammock areas. Other things to note This listing is not suitable for children under 10 and we have no accommodation or safety measures for children under 2. Please consider this when booking the villa. No pets. We house 8 guests maximum, including children. Any guests beyond the number listed on your itinerary will be charged a penalty of 1000 pesos per person per night. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy of your reservation. The plunge pool is not heated but it is not necessary. Trust us when we say a heated pool is not something anyone wants in Puerto weather. Temperatures rarely go below 80 degrees so the pool stays pleasantly warm. Early/late check in as well as late check out cannot always be accommodated but you can leave your luggage at the front gate if you arrive early or need to store it after checking out. We do not have a clothes washer available for guest to use, but there are lavandería services nearby, where they will wash, dry, iron, and fold your clothes for a low cost. Please ask for a referral. There are no designated parking spaces for cars, however there is ample street parking. Motos can park inside the building. We would like to remind guests that they are coming to a more rural, tropical part of Mexico. While we do our best to mitigate any issues that may arise there are sometimes things that are unavoidable. 1) Because of the open air concept of the villa, there are bugs. You might see the occasional small spider, fly, mosquito, or ant, as well as geckos. We try to minimize this by keeping doors closed and cleaning up well when there is food involved. We expect guests to clean up after themselves as they stay in the villa to minimize bugs. 2) There are power outages and wifi and cell service can go down for a period of time. Our high speed fiber optic internet is usually buffered from the normal outages that happen in town, but we can be impacted. This tends to happen if there is a city-wide power outage or during the height of tourist season when there is just too many people for the infrastructure to maintain. We have neighbors with other, satelite internet solutions and they experience the same issues. If you are working from home it is good to have a back up plan with a coworking space in town- we can recommend some nearby.
