The Retreat at Twin Lakes is located just north of Atlanta and makes an easy centralized location from all directions. Its setting gives idea of being away from all things city when in reality we can be accessed from 6 different directions, each chock full of standard stores both big and small (there's nothing remote about us except the feel!). We have a 2 story home with a full basement that walks out to the spacious back yard flowing into the lake and beyond. (In the winter, you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of the horses on the peninsula across the way!) Aside the main house is the Carriage House which resembles a barn with silk curtains, weathered metal sheeting and twinkling lights, folding chairs, rolling spools and workshop tables. The upper and lower firepits give even more areas for congregation, as do the many fun amenities on-site including pool and foos ball tables, cornhole and yard games, ping pong and fishing poles, kayaks and our deck-level hot tub complete with the view of the lake and all the nature it brings with. The house easily sleeps 12 and there are more couches available for those extra guests. Just down the road are activities for the whole family and as mentioned, just across the street is the Sawnee Mountain Nature Preserve with miles and miles of hiking and the historic and picturesque Indian Seats which allow you to see to the mountains of North Carolina on clear day!
