Our recently renovated 1843 stone farmhouse home is rich in history and rich in story. Unique architectural elements like hidden cupboards and deep window sills compliment the abundant modern amenities. You are staying in a 5 room in-law style suite (with 2 bedrooms) that is part of a main home. All living areas are private. The first floor offers a comfortable queen bedroom with seating/living room area that includes a pull out couch, smart tv, desk (with ethernet connection), and a spacious closet with washer and dryer. The kitchenette (first floor) has a table with seating for four, a refrigerator, microwave, 2 burner stove top, toaster oven, a griddle and panini maker, 2 kinds of coffee makers, tea pot, blender and a full set of pots and pans and more. Just up the stairs a well-appointed 2nd floor master suite awaits where you'll enjoy a soaking tub, double head shower, and king size bed. If you are traveling alone, as a couple or with a small group, this home is right for you. The home is beautifully nestled between a meandering creek and a small lake so you will have beautiful views. There are private and common outdoor spaces to enjoy like a guest only patio, expansive yard, large deck, dock and gazebo. Your stay gives you access to the 7+ acre property including a private lake with GREAT fishing, swimming, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding (there are 3 to use) and a gazebo with ample seating that sits on the water. (Lifejackets and supervision required for young people). There is also a fire pit by the lake and one on the guest patio. PRIVATE ENTRANCE AND LIVING SPACES. You are reserving a roomy secondary suite/apt. within your hosts home, (think in-law suite). The home is divided so your suite is separate (no indoor shared spaces) to ensure your privacy. You have a covered guest patio with a charcoal grill, tables and seating to enjoy and outdoor meal and a fire pit - all of which overlook the creek. Outdoor shared spaces include the gazebo on the lake, walking paths, a vast yard, porches, and 2 fire pit areas. You can access your suite using personal code. We are respecting all social distancing rules and giving our guests room to relax and dismiss the stresses of the day. Please feel free to say hello if you happen to cross paths with your hosts during your stay. There are wonderful places to eat, a chocolate factory (Ashers), farmers markets, grocery stores, walking paths, places to go hiking, parks and lots of shopping are just minutes from the home. Whatever you like is accessible. There is a basket full of brochures about local things to do in the suite, or feel free to ask your hosts for recommendations. You will need a car. We are on the outskirts of town and have a long driveway. Parking for 2 cars included. Have more than 2 cars? We offer additional parking onsite for $5/night. Pets: We are dog-friendly with the following requirements: 1 dog up to 50lbs is included in the rate- you are required to make the host aware that your dog is traveling with you. If you are traveling with more than 1 dog (or a larger dog) you are required to contact the owner for approval. If accepted there is an additional reasonable fee in per animal beginning with the second pet (or if your pet is larger than 50 lbs) per stay that is required. Coffee, tea and a few lite snacks are included as well as hospitality items. The kitchenette is stocked with dishes, glasses, cups, flatware among other necessary items including: knives, salt pepper, sugar. Sheets and towels are provided as well.
