Description
You will wake in the trees, to the soft prospects of the forested Siskiyou mountains to the west. You'll discover enchanting views at every window, from city streets to a quiet English garden and pond. You are only a few steps from Ashland Plaza, yet the retreat-like environment we offer to all our guests requires that no incense, smoking, vaping or pets are allowed in the Carriage House. The City of Ashland has authorized the Carriage House. Our City Planning Action Number is PA-2013-01701. The space Ashland Plaza, world famous Lithia Park, international and gourmet restaurants, coffee houses; health food stores, fitness gyms, unique shops and Shakespeare theaters are a short stroll from the Carriage House (within 2 or 3 blocks!). You may also enjoy the quiet of the private gardens and a fully appointed kitchen (supplied with seasonal fruit; fresh, home-made granola; tea, coffee, and necessary condiments); laundry facilities; air conditioning; bathroom radiant heating (hair dryer, of course), and a romantic gas heating fireplace for winter visits. There is one bathroom (with a shower, not a tub). The Carriage House will sleep four people. Two in the private bedroom (queen-sized bed) on the main floor and two on the comfortable full-sized futon in the loft, accessed by a Japanese Kaidan Tansu (traditional staircase cabinet). The loft is not advisable for senior citizens or children under ten years old. We happily welcome children ten or over in the Carriage House. Approved by City of Ashland Community Development # 13-1826; Planning Action # '(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Guest access A guest parking place is provided in the carriage garage. Private access to the garden and Carriage House, which is a completely separate unit from the 1876 Victorian house. Other things to note For "in door" activities in inclement weather, you can set up a board game near the fire place. We've stacked five games in the kitchen cabinet: Monopoly; Scrabble; Pictionary; Backgammon; and Trivial Pursuit. If the weather's good, take a walk through the English garden, which is "patrolled" by our working cat, Mama Tux. She is a rescued wild kitty that purringly values her garden job (either sleeping peacefully in protected boxes or fending off unwanted critters).
