Exquisite Bronte Country Cottage | Free Parking
Description
With its name inspired by the lyrics of Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’, Come Home Cottage sits near the top of Haworth’s charming Main Street, very close to the ‘wily, windy moors!’ This home-from-home grade II listed house has all you’d expect from an escape to the country, with beamed ceilings, wood-burning fires, and a traditional flagstone floor. The space Come Home is an ideal escape for couples, or for single travellers, who want to explore the local area, or just relax and curl up by the fire with a glass of something and a good book or a film. It’s a minutes’ walk from Haworth’s Main Street, with its quirky little bars and restaurants. It’s also a stone’s throw from the Bronte Parsonage Museum if you’d like to step into the room where Jane Eyre was written, and those breathtaking moors are within walking distance as well. Come Home has four floors. The first-floor living room has a large stone fireplace with a wood burner, original stone-flagged floors, and wood-beamed ceilings. There are two very comfortable sofas, complete with snuggle blankets for total rest and relaxation. There is a TV, but also a well-stocked bookcase, and the room has a large window if you’d just like to watch the world go by on West Lane. If you haven’t heard horses’ hooves on cobbles, listen out! The large basement kitchen has full cooking facilities, a huge sofa, and a small wall-mounted TV. The original cooking range is still there, and still has to be regularly ‘blacked!’ Originally, Come Home Cottage would have belonged to two separate families, one of whom would have had this kitchen as their entire living space (the richer family had all of the upstairs rooms.) On the first floor there is a double bedroom, and a nice, spacious bathroom with both a shower and a bath. The top floor is a tiny attic room, which directly under the old stone slates of the roof, and because it can be a bit chilly up there, we only tend to use it for family and only when we have a full house. Sorry, we love dogs, but the house isn’t suitable for them. Our other cottage ‘Fall in Green’, is just two minutes away, and dogs are very welcome. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house. Parking is on the street directly in front of the house with our permit. Other things to note 1 Small Dog only allowed.
