This beautifully restored 1890s, 5++ bedroom, 8 Bed, 3 bath Victorian which preserves its historic character among many modern amenities. You’ll love all the space, additional cottage, charm, stained glass, huge farm kitchen and great setting. No college parties. Dear prospective guest, We own two historic and. beautiful homes in Wales, Wisconsin. One of the homes I raised my children in. We have warm homes and we are warm people. I am a Pastor and my wife is a teacher and we are now empty nesters and also manage these properties. We care about you having a great stay at our homes. Please read our reviews to see how much our guests have given positive testimony about their experience with us. Before we follow up with the description. Thank you for your patience in reading some important information. We are sorry to have to lead in with the following paragraph. Unfortunately, we have had some bad experiences with guests. We only want to rent to guests who will care for our home diligently and treat our neighbors very respectfully. We do not allow large parties. Non-overnight guests may be allowed with written permission from us ahead of time but not in large quantities. We certainly do not allow college age drinking parties. We also want our guests to be aware we have installed outdoor security cameras. If you are good people who will care for our home you will absolutely love our homes and your experience. We really care about our guests having a good experience! Please read all the house rules prior to booking. If you have an even larger group and need two homes we have another amazing historic home only one mile away. Book these homes early as they book every weekend and nearly every day of the summer. Pets are $25 per pet, per night. We often work with you if there are multiple pets and multiple nights. (Dogs only) You are charged one simple fee of $25 with the initial reservation and then the other pet fees are handled after the fact through the Air BNB app and not your initial reservation. We will start with the bedrooms and beds! We have four bedrooms upstairs and a master bedroom suite on the main level. In the master bedroom, be warmed by a gas fireplace, and enjoy the ceramic tile double walk-in shower and a whirlpool tub. One of the upper bedrooms will have double bed and a futon. There is also another roll away bed that may be used. All the upstairs bedrooms are queens and a couple doubles. In total, in the home there are 6 double or queen beds, 2 single beds, 1 futon and 1 roll away bed (10 Beds Total) and two air mattresses. The lower level has queen bed, in a lower level family room area. There are two single beds in a small separate room also in the lower level. There is room for two air mattresses, which are provided for the very nicely finished with plush carpeted lower level. Sheets are not provided for the air mattresses so please bring a sleeping bag or sheets for that. They are very nice air mattresses with built in air pumps. Those are in the same room (in the lower level) as the queen bed previously mentioned. For clarification this is an explanation of the 10 total beds and two air mattresses. Our farm kitchen table seats 10, and the breakfast bar seats five. The kitchen has granite countertops and a large island. In the backyard, there is also a historic cottage. Please check out the pictures. This detached building can be heated but is not heated full time and is generally not used in the winter. Special arrangements may be discussed for an extra fee of $100 to pay for a special cleaning and also to allow it to be heated for while you are using it. This extra fee is required from the weekend prior to Thanksgiving until March 30th. It has an amazingly quaint and charming living room and and upper loft. In addition to all this, the back yard, right next to the cottage has a fire pit built into the patio and a gas fireplace table too. There is also a lovely screened porch for the morning coffee. Okay, just a little more to brag about. There is a large circle driveway for parking, another open driveway with basketball hoop. In addition, there is nice flat and large yard for sports or yard games. HISTORY OF THE PROPERTY Welsh immigrants helped settle this farm in the 1840's. This estate was established by Richard "King" Jones of Wales. The first church services, weddings and more were held on this estate. Mr. Jones allowed people to live in his barn while they built their homes. He named his farm after the name of his farm in Wales, UK. The name is Bronnyberllan. This estate is written about in several published writings. It is remarked as the most famous Welsh home in Wisconsin. In 1891 a fire burnt down Mr. Jones original estate. It was then rebuilt in the 1890s by a man named Charles Williams. It was written that Mr. Williams, a man of well means, then built what is described as one of the finest homes in the Town of Genesee. After decades of farming by the Rees family, they sold the farm land this home was on to what now is known as the Legend at Brandybrook Country Club. The Legend is a beautiful private country club and high end neighborhood that abuts this property. Finally, the Cavaiani's bought the home in 2006, only the fourth family to own the home. It was in much need of repair and restoration but to their delight the beautiful main floor wood work had never been painted and the stained glass windows were all stil in place. After a year of restoration, even to the point of matching wood species and milling the Cavaiani's and their family of five moved in. Our kids have now grown, and two of them are in college and one only has a year left of high school. As a result, we moved nearby into a smaller home and now manage this home as an Airbnb. It is a delight to share this home with others and see how much they appreciate it. You will see a 4% management fee associated with this booking. It should be noted that this is a historic maintenance fee. Our historic homes do require extra care and this fee helps us keep them in quality condition for our guests. Your booking is helping preserve these homes and allow them to be enjoyed for generations to come. Ask Jay about hiking trails! There are many trail systems nearby. One that is beautiful and close where you don’t need a permit is Retzer Nature Center. Other State Park trail systems nearby include Lapham Peak and the Scuppernong Trails. Both of those are beautiful! Lapham is more popular and closer (10 min) Scuppernong is about 15 minutes away and more remote with much less people. Lapham you will have to pay parking and if there is snow the trails are for cross country only. It does have a tower to check out with views of the nearby lakes. Scuppernong is always open to hiking and to park in the lot you need to pay but you can park for free on the road, Hwy ZZ, and that’s free. Please feel free to ask questions. There are several other areas to check out. Some of those include Paradise Springs and the Ice Age Trail. The Ice Age trail is not a loop trail. The home is exclusively for you our guests. The garage is locked along with the unfinished portion of the basement and a mini office & closet area in the home are closed for the owners' use. The rest is for our guests to enjoy. None of areas mentioned for the owner impacts the freedom of our guests to enjoy this spacious home. We live and work in the area and are pleased to make sure our guests have a great experience. We're just a mile away from MaMa Ds, a coffeehouse known throughout the area. Western Waukesha County offers plenty of delicious restaurants and custard shops. We're just 25 miles west of Milwaukee. We are the original homestead of the Legend at Brandybrook Country Club. The homes on adjacent lots are in the million dollar range. This home is near the Wales trailhead of the Glacial Drumlin State Trail, which connects Waukesha to Cottage Grove. The home is also near Lapham Peak State Park and the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The house is just 4 miles to Interstate 94. Please see our reviews to know how much care we put into cleaning for our guests. The backyard is very quiet and private with a special atmosphere next to the historic “Bronyberllan” cottage. There is a wood fire pit and also a gas fire table in the back patio. There is great room for the kids to play or do gaming in the finished lower level. They will also love playing in the loft of the cottage. There is ample space for a large group and a kitchen to accommodate.
