Ten minutes to the heart of Homer where you can enjoy the shops, restaurants, fishing charters, glacier tours, bear viewing, winery, or beach-comb along the spit. The upper levels of the cabin have panoramic, floor to ceiling windows that provide for an exquisite view of the gorgeous Homer Spit and Kachemak Bay. The kitchen is an open concept with bar seating. The main level has one bedroom that sleeps 2 with a queen bed and full bathroom. The beautiful custom staircase guides you to a large loft bedroom that additionally sleeps 5 more comfortably which also has a full bathroom and an office area. There is a lower level of home that is a separate rental space. Private entrance through the rear of the cabin, the upper 2 levels, and the wrap around deck. We are available to you, either in person or via phone. We will be living onsite throughout the summer on the homestead property in a cabin. Please don't hesitate to reach out. This is a very special neighborhood. Bayview Gardens was homesteaded by my grandparents back in 1949. Most of the area immediately surrounding our home is forest. Although there are plenty of homes in Bayview Gardens and the neighbors are very kind. Many locals enjoy grabbing breakfast downtown along Pioneer Avenue or over off Main where you can get to Two Sisters Bakery. Just up the hill off of Skyline is a nature trail donated by our family and named after our grandparents, it is the Gene & Mim Effler Nature Trail. Some guests will bring their bikes to go biking around the hill or to bring in their vehicle down to the Homer Spit to take a ride along the lovely trail that borders the spit. There is a taxi service if you need it. Otherwise your own vehicle is the best form of transportation. We provide disposable eye masks due to the unique Alaskan summers where the sun does not set but you are encouraged to bring your own if you choose. Also, the cabin has 3 levels and you’re likely to have guests below you.
