Stone Country Farmhouse
A family begun constructing our house before the civil war. The first section was completed, but when the war broke out the brothers went to war. Upon their return they slowly completed the rest of the stone structure. Later a garage was constructed which became mother-in-law quarters so my mom could live with us. The space that you will be staying in is the stone structure plus a newly constructed kitchen/great room. My mom will still be in her mother-in-law quarters while you stay. The space Our house sits on eleven acres bordering a small lake community (however, the lake is for members only so our guests are not allowed to fish, boat, or swim.) The lake community is on one side of the house and on the other you feel as if you are far out in the country. But we are only 6 miles from town—about 15 minutes to Kansas State. We have beautiful sunrises and frequent wildlife visitors. Our house has plenty of space inside and out for friends and families. A spacious great room with plenty of room for family meals and entertainment, a bonus table right next to the kitchen and a separate dining dining room make the house great for friends and family time bonding. Two upstairs bedrooms, including a master bedroom and bunk room give plenty of space for sleeping. There is a two person shower and two sinks in the bathroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs has a soaker claw foot tub with a shower attached. The front room doubles as a cozy library, tv room, game room, and/or bedroom. Another hide-a-bed is in the great room for extra sleeping space. The house has plenty of indoor and outdoor games, many books, the two separate spaces with televisions, and a full and equipped kitchen. Guest access We have an apartment in our barn which we also AirBnB. If you would like to rent that also please see our other listing! The house has two bedrooms upstairs. One master bedroom and one bunk room. The bunk room has two full over full bunk beds (there isn't a ton of space between the bottom and top bunk, but we have slept in it and it works fine--you should just be aware:). The front room can be used as a bedroom (there is a sofa sleeper), library, tv room, or game room. The kitchen/great room has a full kitchen, sitting area, TV, island, and table. There is also a sofa sleeper in the great room. You can utilize the whole house, however, we do have guest quarters/apartments adjacent to the house with two different apartments as well as a mother-in-law quarters for my mom (her door is next to the double glass doors) . of course they will be accessing their rooms on occasion. There are also a few spaces inside the stone house that will be reserved for our family's use: Front Room--Storage room right off the front room can be used to hang clothes, but is also a storage room for our family. Master Bedroom--There is a rod to hang your clothes and two dressers for your use, however the closets, drawers under the beds, and the dresser closest to the windows on the east side of the bed are reserved for our use. Bunk Room--The closet, dresser with the mirror and top 4 drawers of the tall dresser are for your use. Great Room--The middle drawer in the dresser in the great room is for your use. Kitchen--You can use all of the dishes and pans in the kitchen. We will leave the cabinets with our food. You can use what we have, but please use within reason. Other things to note If we are home we will be on the hill north of the house in our little cabin or in the barn apartment. So we may be going in and out of the property. Our horse and goat barn renters will be at the barn in the morning and evening and sometimes during the day and we may have AirBnb guests at our barn so don’t be surprised if there are occasional cars and others on the property. No parties or events allowed.
