The house has only three steps required to enter the single-level home, keyless entry, plenty of room to park several vehicles or a boat, a fenced backyard with a deck, full kitchen with cooking essentials, a 55" TV (Amazon Firestick), and Wi-Fi. Guest access Walking Distance: The Petersburg Place is conveniently located within walking distance from Petersburg’s downtown square where you can visit Hand of Fate Brewing Company (7 min), the Broadgauge Restaurant and Event Center (7 min), 1st and 3rd Wine Bar and Boutique (6 min), and several other boutiques, antique shops, restaurants, and bars. The Sangamon River also runs through Petersburg, which offers fishing and kayaking opportunities. Driving Distance: - Lincoln New Salem Historic Site (5 min): Tour the reconstructed village where Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood and hike 10 km of trails - Shambolee Golf Course (8 min): A 18-hole course with a bar/restaurant in the clubhouse - Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area (19 min): A 16,550-acre property to fish, boat, or kayak on three different lakes, hunt deer, turkey, pheasants, doves, and rabbits, forage for mushrooms, hike, and horseback riding on their 26-mile trail system. - Wineries (7 - 36 min): Visit three different wineries in the area, West of Wise, Prairie Hill, and Danenberger Family Vineyard Other things to note Pets: We love dogs and allow 1-2 well-behaved dogs to stay at the house. Dogs must be included on your reservation (pet fee is $20 per stay). We ask that dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds and dogs are kenneled when left alone.
