Description

Romantic cottage in the sleepy Oxfordshire village of Cuddesdon, close to Oxford, Le Manoir, The Cotswolds, Henley, Blenheim Palace and quick links to London. Reminiscent of the cottage from ‘The Holiday’, its warm, calm, cosy interiors make it perfect for couples, friends or families looking for a relaxing break away. Cosy up by the fire, daydream whilst looking over the beautiful countryside views, linger in the cosy king size beds, or stroll up to The Bat and Ball for an amazing dinner. The space We’re delighted to welcome you to this 19th century cottage, a romantic escape in the countryside that’s made for couples, friends or families. Set in the prettiest of villages yet only 7 miles to Oxford and less than an hour from London, the picturesque village of Cuddesdon offers sweeping views of Oxfordshire countryside. It is perfectly located for countryside frolics, visits to Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, exploring the dreaming spires of Oxford, and even has its own award winning pub ‘The Bat and Ball’ (only a 1 minute stroll away). A traditional English country cottage with beamed ceilings, wood burner, oodles of character, all decorated in a soothing palette of Farrow and Ball and Neptune colours. Living First, enter into the cosy sitting room at Stile Cottage, with its beamed ceiling, wood burner and wooden floors. Decorated in a calming warm neutral, with pops of burnt orange and aqua blue, you won’t want to leave the snuggly sofa. There’s also a Smart TV and Bluetooth sound-bar to create the soundtrack to your escape. Eating The warm neutrals and characterful beams continue into the bright and airy kitchen, complete with views of rolling Oxfordshire countryside. Pop the Le Creuset stovetop kettle on the stove and wait for the whistle whilst you settle down on the window seat to take in that bucolic view. Or, set the table for lazy brunches and cosy romantic dinners. Let’s not forget the mod cons though, the kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, and state of the art bean to cup coffee machine. Sleeping Take the stairs up from the sitting room and you’ll discover two romantic bedrooms, both with king size beds and sweeping views of Oxfordshire. Decorated in soothing shades of Farrow and Ball Setting Plaster and Neptune Old Rose, and adorned with cushions and cosy checked blankets made for long lazy mornings with breakfast in bed. Little touches of luxury pillow mists and scented candles will help you drift off into a peaceful slumber. Bathing Just across the landing lies the stunning bathroom, complete with rainfall shower over the bath, honeyed tiles, complementary bath products and sumptuous Egyptian cotton towels to envelop yourself in. Working Off the sitting room is a separate home office colour drenched in the soothing shade of Neptune Olive to inspire your creativity. With large desk, cosy comfy chair, power points and fast WiFi this is the perfect place to work from home, yet easy to shut the door on the daily grind at the end of the day. Outdoors Outside you’ll discover a wildly romantic English cottage garden complete with rambling roses, honeysuckle arches, garden mirrors and twinkling fairy lights so you can stay out long after the sun goes down. There is also a wooden table, four chairs and BBQ. The countryside is one of the best places to stargaze, so wrap yourselves up, make some hot chocolate and see which constellations you can spot. Guest access Parking is on the street outside the cottage, there is plenty of parking available and it is all free throughout the village. The cottage is then located about a 20 metre walk up the footpath from the road where you have parked. We would recommend bringing a car with you as the nearest bus links are in the next village (Wheatley). The Bat and Ball pub, which has recently reopened under new ownership following a beautiful refurbishment, is a 1 minute stroll away from the cottage. This offers elevated pub dishes in a beautiful cosy interior. The village has a lovely park with new playground equipment and amazing views so a great place if you have young children to take a picnic. Other things to note The cottage has excellent WiFi, great transport links to London, and a dedicated home office, so is perfect for working from home.
