Historic home preserves the character of Old Beaumont with modern features that make this a charming place to stay! You'll enjoy a fully furnished ensuite with private bath for complete privacy, as well as access to common areas. The French blue room is decorated with beautiful accents, creating a calming and spacious environment. Hotel amenities like wifi, mini fridge, Roku tv, and comfortable furnishings make this perfect for traveling professionals or a quick getaway. Guest room is fully furnished with a bed, television, radio, WiFi, mini fridge, and is completely private with its own bath. Traveler amenities are provided like shampoo, toothpaste, hair dryer, etc. Enjoy hotel quality surroundings in a home atmosphere. PLEASE READ THE "OTHER THINGS TO NOTE" SECTION BEFORE YOU BOOK. Guests can make use of other common areas of the home, including library, living room, laundry, kitchen, and breakfast area. WiFi access throughout the house. Porch, outdoor dining, and grounds included. Each room has keyless entry. I may be there, or a member of my team may be there at the house. Either way I am always available if you need to contact me during your stay. This 4500sf home was built in 1937, and situated in the heart of the Historic District of Beaumont. Houses here have a beauty of their own, and much history can be learned from the surrounding area. Just up the street is the historic McFaddin-Ward home, a major tourist attraction for the city. The Historic District is unique and there are many architectural features in the District that are amazing to see. There are also a number of areas of blight as the District is undergoing its own renaissance. There are a few great restaurants (not chain) in the area, and the location is quite convenient for the University, hospitals, downtown, the plants and refineries. Most major landmarks are within 10 minutes of my home, including grocery and post office. There are also roughly 6 parks in a 5 mile radius near my home. There is ample parking onsite. Buses run regularly on the main thoroughfare just steps from the home. The City offers scooters you can find on most street corners to get around. Amtrak train station goes into Houston 3-4 times a week. Jack Brooks airport is ten minutes away with daily flights to DFW. A few important things to note BEFORE YOU BOOK: 1. This is the historic district, so there are some fabulous older houses in the area. There are also a number of areas of blight where properties have not been maintained. If you drive around, you will see what I mean. Nevertheless, the property you are renting is maintained and offers you a very comfortable and affordable stay. 2. This is the port in Beaumont. There is intermittent noise from the trains at different hours. For the most part, they try not to blow the horns at night, but you may occasionally hear it. There is also street traffic nearby so you may get some car noise or street lights. For the most part, this is not a disturbance for most guests but something you should be made aware of. 3. This is an old property. There will be issues with things like the plumbing or a/c, etc. I have a repairman who stays on call for when these issues pop up. Please contact me when there is an issue so that I can address it immediately. I do not want to find out after a week or two that there was a leak at the toilet. This affects the quality of your stay and impacts my repair damage later. I can only address what I am made aware of. 4. You are a guest in my home. While Airbnb makes this kind of stay affordable--which also makes it attractive to someone looking to not spend a lot on lodging--you are still a guest in someone's home. The nominal cleaning fee that is charged for each stay goes toward the work it takes to give you a clean place to stay in. When you arrive, you find a clean home. Please do not trash the place. Please clean up after yourself. Please do not take things that do not belong to you. Be respectful. 5. A bad review means that something was not properly communicated. I may not always cover everything upfront, but I am always available if something comes up. JUST ASK. I love making guests happy, but I don't know if something is an issue until you make me aware. Please remember that I have had hundreds of guests come through my home over the years. Most of my rules have been developed based on the average of what a guest might like. If there is room to make an adjustment for the comfort of your stay, I will likely accommodate it. Hospitality is an art that requires feedback. I would prefer that feedback to be ongoing and not at the end of the stay when I no longer have the chance to address an issue. I strive each day to bring a sense of Southern hospitality into my home for each invited guest!
