Experience the isolation of rural living, but with the knowledge you are only 20-30 minutes from Porirua City, Hutt Valley & Wellington City. Built in 2021, the guesthouse has all the modern amenities you need including it's own carpark, lounge, kitchen & bathroom. The space The guesthouse is situated on a 5ha lifestyle block and surrounded by the hills of Moonshine Valley. The guesthouse is a modern flat attached to the main house where we live with our young daughter, dog and cat. The guesthouse has a private entrance way and parking space, its own kitchen, bathroom, lounge, master bedroom, and deck. There is a lock between the guesthouse and main house to maintain your privacy. The guesthouse has been fitted out with all the basic amenities so you can feel comfortable and relax. We have a laundry that is available to use on request. Please feel free to walk around the property and enjoy the fresh air of rural living. As we live on site, you may see us (and the dog) in the garden. Guest access The guesthouse is approximately 20min from Porirua City and the Hutt Valley and 25-30min from Kapiti Coast and Wellington City (depending on traffic). The nearest supermarket is in Whitby, roughly 15min away. There are a lot of great places to eat out across the greater Wellington region - please let me know if you would like a recommendation. Similarly, within a 30min radius, there are a lot of walks and hikes of various degrees of difficulty. Check out my guide book for options or ask for a recommendation. Other things to note We have a toddler and as best as we try to minimise noise for our guests, this is our daughter's home and toddlers can be loud. We have a border collie named Cedar and a cat named Shamu. Cedar loves people, thinks they are put on this earth to pat him, and tends to forget his manners when he sees someone new. We allow Cedar to run around the property as it is his home. If you are scared of dogs or don't like them being around you, then our guesthouse may not be the place for you. As we are rural, on occasion we can experience power cuts which affects our water, power and internet access. We do have a backup generator for the water and lights. However, this can only be turned on when we are home. While the service companies are pretty quick to respond, unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do to manage it any quicker. Similarly, because we are rural, our water is supplied by the rain and stored in water tanks (perfectly safe to drink!). In summer, please be mindful of water usage as we can run low on water.
