The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher, and all furnishings have been thoughtfully curated for your comfort. Locally owned shops, restaurants, and the UMF campus are steps away. It's the perfect home away from home for the outdoor enthusiast, visiting professional, or those in town to visit family or student. The loft is a newly constructed open-concept apartment located in a historic building in downtown Farmington. When you arrive, you'll enter through a back alley and ascend the stairs to your private hideaway. When you enter, you'll discover a contemporary and uber-comfy apartment with a kitchen designed for cooking ease, a lovely private bath where you can wash off your travels, and a king-sized bed beckoning you to kick off your shoes and put up your feet. If you must work, pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the relaxing workspace and free wifi. Guests will have full access to the loft. The backdoor to the loft will remain locked, as it accesses the pottery studio as well as the downstairs retail and office spaces. Both my husband and I operate businesses in the building, and our home is less than a mile away. We are always nearby to help should any needs arise. The loft is a quiet hideaway in a family-owned, historic building in the center of downtown, on the second floor behind a working pottery studio. For the gaming enthusiast, the best game store in Maine is located at street level. Loft guests can easily walk to coffee, cocktails, dinner, shopping, a movie - without ever needing to get in the car. Tucks Ale House is a great spot for a bite or a sip and will occasionally have live music, however the town is pretty quiet after 10 PM. Hiking and biking trails are also within walking/cycling distance. Additionally, the lovely University of Maine campus is within walking distance, giving visitors the unique opportunity to explore museums, libraries, and attend music and arts events. Most anything you need can be found within walking distance. Downtown parking is plentiful and free, but navigating the various ordinances requires some finesse. Be warned - failure to observe these parking rules will likely result in a ticket or being towed: Winter Parking (Nov 15-Apr 15) The ONLY 24 hour parking lot during the winter months is the Anson Street Parking Lot (between Cony andg High Streets). HOWEVER, your car must be moved on Sundays from 9 am to 11 am for snow removal - EVEN IF IT HAS NOT SNOWED. I highly recommend parking in the Anson Street parking lot as much as possible. It is a longer walk to the apartment, but saves you from having to shuffle your car around to avoid being towed. Other options: - you may park on the street for up to 2 hours at a time from 6 am to midnight - you may park in the public lot on Church Street from 8 am to midnight
