Castlewellan Forest Park (10 mins) has it all: gardens, easy flat lake walk for buggy/wheelchair, giant maze, stunning waymarked trails, mountain bike trails, outdoor hire, horse riding, play park & mobility parking at lake. 15 minutes: Newcastle sandy beach, promenade, excellent hospitality, Mourne mountains, Tollymore Forest park. So much on your doorstep! Maximise your days with my map and guest book on the table; everything is collated in close proximity. Mobility access: 2 downstairs bedrooms: 1 with king sized bed + wet room with electric shower. Downstairs all flat access thresholds. Mobility aids available include a high toilet seat/shower seat, raised winged armchair and a basic adult transit wheelchair. Shallow 5cm step at the front door. Patio and Pigs: south facing furnished patio (Easter to Halloween) + Gas BBQ: a great spot to relax nestled around by green fields/hills. Our nephew’s Oxford Sandy and Black spotty pigs in the field beyond the sunroom occasionally have spotty piglets. He comes briefly and discreetly to feed them every evening. They love your fresh food scraps. Electricity, oil central heating, bed linen and 1 bath towel per person are included in the price. We supply a large basket (2 bags) of complementary logs and starter kindling for the wood burner and encourage you to use this in preference to oil central heating: logs are from trees on our farm, and continually replanted annually. Guest access A car is essential for this rural retreat. Park 6 cars in the front yard so they do not block your view from the sunroom. Park at the front door for easy unpacking and to activate motion sensor light at dusk. The key, in the coded key safe in the bike shed: the code is sent to you 3 days prior to your stay. Check Accessible photos and info for: Front door 87 cm wide with shallow 5cm front door step. Internal downstairs doorways are all 81+ cm with flat tiled access. Downstairs king bedroom with ensuite wet room. Mobility aids available: high toilet/shower seat, high winged easy chair, small adult transit wheelchair Other things to note It's comfortable for 12 with 5 bedrooms plus the 2nd TV room becomes 6th bedroom with double sprung sofabed. There are 2 additional fold out foam sofa beds for a couple extra. Sorry no smoking/vaping in the house and no pets. I appreciate anything you do to reduce (all lights of when you go out and check out) and recycle properly please On days when there is no pressure of immediate changeover I will invite you to check-in and check-out at a time that suits you.
