Description
This homely, family-sized cottage has history and character and is ideal for a holiday or and for accessing the local area. It has a driveway for your vehicle and also street parking outside. The garden is delightful - and a range of garden furniture is provided for your relaxation and enjoyment. The village shop with post office and petrol station are just across the street. Note that the house is presently on the market so there is a ‘ For Sale’ sign at the front of the house. The space This character, family sized cottage is ideal for a holiday or for longer stays. There are three main spaces downstairs, the kitchen-dining area, the sitting room (which has a guitar, piano and music centre in it) and the snug/TV room. This room has a feature fireplace but it is unfortunately not to be used. The dining area has a wood burning stove that can be used with suitable wood. The main bedroom has a double bed, overlooks the garden and has an en-suite bathroom with toilet and spa bath. The second bedroom has a double bed and has a street view overlooking fields. The third bedroom is of a good size but has just a single bed. A temporary extra bed can be provided by guests with agreement through the hosts. The main house has gas central heating. The garden is an ideal place to relax in warm weather with patio and BBQ area, decking next to fishpond, summerhouse and mini orchard. The back gate leads to brook side walk and delightful little bridge. There are lots of board games for guest use. There is also a building connected to the house, for full guest use, with 2 office spaces and an activity area. This area has electric heating. Guest access There is a good sized driveway that can accommodate a large vehicle and also street parking. Please note that some parts of the cottage are 18th century and there are many places where the access to rooms or cupboards is low. In the main bedroom you have to duck low to get through the door to the en-suite. The stairs are wide but steep. The village shop, pub and playing field are all within easy walking distance. The local pub - The Fox and Hounds serves good beer. There are many walks that can be taken around the village, including to Birdbrook and Helions Bumpstead - each having a pub providing good food. A fish and chip van stops at the village shop opposite every Tuesday between 5 and 7 pm Other things to note Please contact us if you have a requirement for a long stay. The old section of the cottage has low doors and ceilings and the stairs are steep. The garden pond could be a hazard to young children- so they should always be supervised.
