Welcome to Northeast Harbor and Acadia National Park! SUMMIT BUNGALOW was completely renovated in 2019. It is a block away from water views and within easy walking distance to town. Hiking, carriage trail walks and biking, time spent on the water, and restaurants, are ready for you to enjoy! Within town is a library, public tennis courts, and numerous shops to explore. Begin your mornings with coffee on the porch swing and end the day over-looking the spacious backyard. Not suitable for infants, along with no pets and no smoking. Summit Bungalow has a generator, along with A/C for the summer, which makes it enjoyable year-round. You have access to the entire home, including the spacious back yard, and a single parking space reserved just for guests. Please be in touch if you have any needs while you are staying at Summit Bungalow. We have a local housekeeper and caretaker that can help you as well. Northeast Harbor is adjacent to Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. Be prepared to relax in the cool evenings after a day spent enjoying the great outdoors! Take a ferry ride, or boat taxi, out to neighboring islands for walks and memorable adventures. Bar Harbor is within 20 minutes of Summit Bungalow and has numerous restaurants and shops but it comes with more crowds than Northeast Harbor. Winter months do offer more quiet yet many stores and restaurants are closed for the season. Additionally, not all trails or roads in the park are open. Take advantage of the SEASONAL LL Bean's free Island Explorer bus service from the nearby Sea Street Dock or drive around the ANP Park Loop Road. Numerous hiking trails and carriage trails are within minutes of Summit Bungalow. We hope you will feel at home at Summit Bungalow but do ask that you treat it as you would your own home - with care and respect. If the generator turns on while you are visiting please be aware that the refrigerator beeps when the power returns. Simply press the button within the fridge to disable the beep. Strange, I know, but it's a feature of the refrigerator as a reminder that the power went out. When you depart Summit Bungalow you have some additional procedures to follow in regards to trash/recycling removal and also stripping of the beds....Please refer to notes left posted on the refrigerator.
