This is a standard procedure designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all parties involved in renting homes in North Carolina. When signing the rental agreement, you are agreeing to share this agreement and the house rules with all parties that will be on the property during your stay. Guest Verification with Truvi To protect our homes and enhance your peace of mind, Sojourn partners with Truvi, a third-party guest verification platform. Trust & Safety Fee Our company applies a single, nonrefundable fee for a Safely Protection Policy. We do not collect a security deposit. A Safely Protection Policy (short-term rental insurance) ensures that the guest, the home and its contents are protected during the stay. Security Cameras All of our homes have exterior security cameras for the safety and security of our guests. Exterior cameras are pointed at areas of ingress and egress from the home. Property Access & Maintenance From time to time, our homes may require preventative or emergency maintenance. While we make every effort to avoid any interruptions to your stay, Sojourn reserves the right to access the property after providing 24 hours’ written notice. Your comfort is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding. Pool Heat Please note that pool heaters are intended to gently warm the water and take the chill off. They are not designed to heat the pool to a hot-tub or bath-water temperature. Heaters work best when temperatures are 55 degrees and above. House Rules & Guest Responsibilities We kindly ask that you review and confirm acceptance of the following House Rules on behalf of yourself and all guests in your party. These standards help us protect our homes, respect our neighbors, and ensure every guest has a serene Sojourn experience. Violation of these rules could result in a termination of your reservation without refund. No Smoking To keep things fresh and comfortable for all guests, smoking (including cigarettes, marijuana, and vaping) is not allowed inside the home or within 50 feet of the building—including outdoor spaces. If smoke is reported or detected, we may need to end your stay, apply a $500 cleaning fee, and report the issue to the booking platform. We hope you understand—it’s all about keeping the space pleasant for everyone. Parties or Events Quiet Enjoyment We love a good time—but we also love our peace and quiet! Parties and events aren’t allowed, and all of our homes have decibel readers that help us monitor for loud noise (don’t worry—they don’t record anything). If we receive a report about excessive noise or gatherings, a team member may check in, and your reservation could be canceled without refund. Thanks for helping us keep things serene for our neighbors and other guests! Security Notice All Sojourn properties are equipped with exterior security cameras, including coverage of entryways and common areas that are recording at all times. These are used for guest safety, property protection, and in some cases to ensure compliance with local city regulations. There are no interior cameras inside any of our homes. Plumbing Etiquette — What Not to Flush or Dispose Please only flush toilet paper—no wipes, feminine products, or anything else. And avoid putting grease or non-food items down the drain or garbage disposal. Plumbing repairs can be expensive, and we’d hate to have to pass that cost along to you! Linens & Care At Sojourn, we provide luxury linens of the highest quality for your comfort. We kindly ask that you help us care for them by following these guidelines. Do not use towels or bedding for cleaning, makeup removal, hair dye or any other activities that could permanently stain the linens. If linens are found to be permanently stained or damaged, we will request reimbursement for the cost of replacement. No Fireworks No Pets Unfortunately, this property is not pet friendly. Yellow Lotus is located in the Whalehead neighborhood in Corolla, NC. Just a short walk to the beach via the Sturgeon Beach Access! A short drive to nearby restaurants, shops, and Carova Beach which is the home of the OBX wild horses! There are several grocery stores within minutes. Food Lion and Harris Teeter. There are local eateries in Corolla and in Duck. Most of the nicer ones will require a reservation - some on Open Table. There are many adventure activities and tours in the area and they fill up fast.
