Venice Flower Cottage: Ideal WFH + dry sauna

Welcome to the Flower Cottage Venice - your very own whimsical, lush, and incredibly (!) walkable beachside hideaway. Our cottage (which is located in a very private space in our large, fenced backyard) features everything you need for an extended stay, including your own private entrance/parking, yard, fire pit, BBQ, fastest wifi, 4K monitors, (shared) usage of the new swedish dry sauna and more. The cottage is a short walk to the beach, Whole Foods, Rose Ave, Abbot Kinney and beyond. The space The Flower Cottage is a beautifully restored California Craftsman tucked into its own private space at the very back of the property. You’ll have exclusive use of the cottage, gated parking and a dreamy private backyard with a BBQ, fire pit, lounge furniture, fruit trees, fragrant lavender and twinkle lights. The gated parking area accommodates one large vehicle and includes access to a standard 110V outlet for EV charging. Please note that charging will be slower than with a dedicated EV charger. A separate main house at the front of the property may be occupied by another monthly guest or family during your stay. The two homes have separate entrances and private living and outdoor spaces. The Swedish dry sauna in the middle garden is the only shared guest amenity, and you’re welcome to use it as often as you’d like. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis; guests simply leave their shoes on the mat outside to indicate that it is occupied. We hope you’ll spend special evenings grilling dinner, unwinding by the fire pit and enjoying the twinkle lights. The private yard is also a little paradise for dogs, and furry friends are welcome! Inside, you’ll find two light-filled bedrooms with exceptionally cozy mattresses and plenty of pillows. Each bedroom has its own desk and 4K monitor for comfortable remote work, along with a closet and chest of drawers for extended stays. The living area features a Samsung Frame TV, which displays artwork when it isn’t in use, along with streaming apps for your favorite shows and movies. The kitchen includes a large refrigerator and freezer, toaster oven, induction burner, cookware, dishes and serving pieces for outdoor dinners and BBQs. Although there is no traditional stove, the electric induction burner provides the same stovetop cooking experience. For coffee lovers, we provide a Chemex, grinder, filters and scale for making the perfect pour-over, as well as a traditional coffee maker. For laundry, there is a compact combination washer and dryer in the back-bedroom closet. Combination machines take longer to complete a wash-and-dry cycle than conventional machines, so we also provide hangers if you prefer to air-dry your clothes. For larger or faster loads, OrangeBag offers a convenient local pickup-and-delivery laundry service. The bathroom has been completely renovated with gorgeous new marble tile. We'll leave fresh eucalyptus hanging for you in the shower. Guest access You’ll have exclusive access to the entire cottage, private backyard and gated parking area. The cottage has its own private entrance through the alley, and detailed arrival instructions will be provided before check-in. The separate main house at the front of the property may be occupied by another monthly guest. The Swedish sauna in the middle garden is the only shared guest amenity. Other things to note Money-saving tip: In Los Angeles, stays of 31 nights or longer are exempt from the city’s 14% occupancy tax and nightly administrative fee—so 31 nights can actually cost less than 30. Please note that Venice is quite urban, so you will experience some noise, including airport noise as we're close to Santa Monica airport. Trash day is Tuesday mornings (in the alley) and the gardener comes every Friday.
