Bayview Gardens was homesteaded by my grandparents back in 1949. Most of the area immediately surrounding our home is forest. Although there are plenty of homes in Bayview Gardens and the neighbors are very kind. Many locals enjoy grabbing breakfast downtown along Pioneer Avenue or over off Main where you can get to Two Sisters Bakery. Just up the hill off of Skyline is a nature trail donated by our family and named after my grandparents, it is the Gene & Mim Effler Nature Trail. Some guests will bring their bikes to go biking around the hill or to bring in their vehicle down to the Homer Spit to take a ride along the lovely trail that borders the spit. There is a taxi service if you need it. Otherwise your own vehicle is the best form of transportation. We offer disposable eye masks due to the Alaskan midnight sun but encourage you to bring your own.
