Colorful Guesthouse in a Resort-Style Hacienda
Colorful Guesthouse in a Resort-Style Hacienda
Description
Our newly constructed hacienda was completed in October of 2015. We are located on a very quiet, secluded street nestled at the base of Mummy Mountain. We have 360 degree views of mountains from our property, almost certain to provide you great wildlife sightings (everything from peach-faced love birds to bobcats.) But relax, our antique wrought iron fencing and 300 year old carved teak entry gates keeps all the critters on the outside of the beautiful brick courtyard where you can enjoy the pool, the hot tub, the comfortable chaises, and the outdoor fireplace. The casita has three sets of French doors leading out to the pool, so all guests will have their own private entrance, and each queen bedroom has its own private full bath, complete with luxury linens and soft, thick towels for pool and bath areas. The kitchen is complete with dishes, glassware, cookware, a full-sized refrigerator, toaster oven, cooktop, and microwave. There is seating for two at the kitchen counter or for eight at the drop leaf table in the family room. Two walk-in closets and a laundry room make living easy. The space includes an outdoor charcoal grill. Paradise Valley is a conveniently located community between Phoenix and Scottsdale, ten minutes from Fashion Square, five minutes from the Camelback Inn, fifteen minutes from the TPC (home of the Phoenix Open), twenty-five minutes from ASU, and twenty minutes from downtown Phoenix. If you are fond of Mexican antiquities, or just think vintage junk is cool, you will love our home and how we have salvaged iron, wood and stone and incorporated it into our hacienda. We call it "our new old house." The casita sits in the west courtyard, where you can enjoy the warm afternoon sun, view breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and watch Mummy Mountain turn orange as the sun goes down. Our all-tile pool can be heated during the colder months, but we need 24 hours notice to get it warm, and will need to charge an additional $30 per day. The hot tub takes only a couple hours to heat up, no extra charge, but lead time is necessary. The pool is available only to people who know how to swim, and there is no barrier between the casita and the pool, so I cannot rent to families with young children. We have a citrus orchard behind the east courtyard, and you are welcome to pick your own grapefruit, oranges, and lemons. There is ample parking space in our driveway for cars. Wifi is free, of course. I am always available to offer suggestions for restaurants, hikes, local activities, and directions. Hike the streets and trails nearby for unrivaled scenery and natural beauty, including views of Phoenix Mountain, Mummy Mountain and the homes of Paradise Valley. We are close to great food and golf, and are easily accessed from both Scottsdale and Phoenix. A list of great places to eat and things to do are available in the casita. We are twenty minutes from Sky Harbor Airport, and Uber is the best form of public transportation (Uber to the airport is approximately $20). FYI, Camelback Inn has a Hertz desk, and some people find that their most convenient car rental option. Our limit is four people at a time. No pets. No children. No smoking anywhere on the premises. No parties. The space Our newly constructed hacienda was completed in October of 2015. We are located on a very quiet, secluded street nestled at the base of Mummy Mountain.
