The space We are one mile off Interstate 90 for quick access to major tourist attractions. Our property has plenty of parking for many vehicles and trailers. It is asphalt until you reach our road which is about 400 ft of gravel to the door of Airbnb. This is a fully equipped and fully furnished apartment in lower part of main house. Walk out patio; no stairs and no dark basement. A spacious outdoor space to take a walk, play, see wildlife, or the view of the foothills. We want you to feel comfortable in the apartment and our place is listed for 5 guests yet it can be more accommodating for 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 kids. There is NO laundry in the apartment, but can make arrangements by messaging the host that you plan to use the main house laundry (quick entry via our front door). Or Laundry World is 7 minutes away from apartment open Monday-Sunday 6am-10:30pm, 40 washers and 30 dryers. They will also do your laundry for you for a fee. Please check websites for more information on sites you would like to visit. Some sites have construction, or elevator repairs for instance. Restaurants/cafes and breweries are open in Black Hills area with social distancing guidelines or only outside dining. Grocery stores are open: Walmart, Safeway, SAMs club, Family Fare; organic groceries: Breadroot or Market Place. We provide: Keurig and coffee maker, coffee and coffee pods, spices, pots/pans, baking items, crockpot, board/card games, variety of DVD's/blueray, and books; small grill (during summer), even a yoga mat, and so much more. Hospitality is my goal! I like to make sure you have everything you need if I am able. -Kid/family items: two small umbrella strollers; small blow up bath tub and travel booster seat appropriate for sitting up infant to 3 years old. Baby/toddler utensils and bowls. Movie for different kids ages up to 8 years old. Out door toys of frisbees; outdoor games of yardzee and bocce ball. Outdoor play area of a play fort, metal construction toys, slide and swings. And of course Pine cone games.....make up a game using the vast amount of pine cones! -At I-90 intersection of our small Black Hawk community are these services: gas station, country grocery store, liquor store and post office. Local to Black Hawk are JR’s Rhodehouse BBQ pit, Neighbors Grub n Pub, Slasher J bar, Elk Creek Steakhouse, and Hunan. -Rapid City-We are 20 minutes to Monument Health Hospital. 15 minutes to downtown Rapid City for presidential walk, festivities, shopping, and variety of restaurants. Search on the internet for "Rapid City/Black Hills area visiting and things to do." Only 7-9 minutes down Sturgis Road is the Outdoor Campus-West part of SD Game, Fish and Parks with a few short trails, archery range and fort. -Whether you need a simple place to stay as you travel through, or home base as you see the sites, this is the place! -Currently: Sunrise watching at around twilight: 5:03am, 5:34am-super early! Our Turkeys are now nesting and we won’t see them until early fall. You may see a few stragglers around. Good news the deer are gathering more. We will have 8-10 deer in front meadow. So fun to see them play and run around like young fawns! -through out the week we will have fires (fire danger and weather permitting). Guests are always welcome but never obligated -a place to feel grounded, relaxed, rejuvenated. -need a day to binge watch Netflix, Disney +, or other various channels on Roku? How about sitting on the patio with your coffee with thoughts to yourself.....yep its here. -grill dinner on your patio area or mill around the 2 acres for yard games or slack line practice (available in summer months). The host family live in upper house and Mary or Dan are available most of the time in person and/or via Airbnb messaging, text or calling. Let's talk time: To the West of us: Depending on traffic congestion we are 25 minutes to Sturgis, SD for the Sturgis motor cycle Rally. Bear Butte State Park 32 minutes. Spearfish, SD 45 min, Historic Deadwood and Lead are 40-50 minutes away. Devils Tower National Monument in WY 1 1/2 hours. South west of us: Mt Rushmore, Hill City, Keystone and Highway 16 attractions are 25-35 minutes. South: Custer State Park and its Wildlife Loop is 60 minutes. Hot Springs and Mammoth Site about 1 hour. To the East of us: Ellsworth AFB, Air and Space Museum 20 min; Badlands National Park is about 1 hour. So many places to visit..... We love animals, but upon much thought, we decided it was best for all guests to not allow pets in our Airbnb. Of course we will also follow Airbnb’s policies for service pets, but please communicate with us. Close by is a wonderful boarding kennel called All Seasons Pet Care. There will be a lock box to access key to enter the suite. You will have access to the play fort, open meadow, yard games and walking around within our 2 acre property. You also have a separate patio with grill (put away in winter months). Quiet time between 10:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. No smoking of any kind or vaping in the vacation rental or on the premises. Other things to note This is a quiet neighborhood with occasional dog barking and visit from local wildlife such as deer, turkeys, squirrels, and rabbits. Please do not feed the wildlife. We do have a cat named Jelly Bean who is very friendly and likes to be pet. She is our mouser cat but is not allowed access to the suite area. Kindly discourage or ignore her if you do not wish to have her around you.
