This is the Alaska of your dreams - bush planes, jet boats, unparalleled views, adventures, fishing, wildlife viewing and more. While in the heart of Lake Clark, Wilderness Pro is located away from the sounds and plane activity of Port Alsworth. After arriving by complimentary boat transport, you can truly experience the Alaskan bush. We have Lake excursions for sightseeing and amazing fishing trips. Read on for more details regarding meals and excursion opportunities. The space Our lodge is a haven of serenity, in the remote beautiful wilderness of Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. The entire property is off grid, with solar and generator power. Starting in 2007, our family began clearing the land by hand and building the lodge. Together, we created a slice of paradise for my wife and I to live and our 7 children and their families to be comfortable when visiting the remote wilderness of Alaska... now we offer several different listings for rent. This listing is for a self-contained, two-bedroom cabin, which is located just up from the main lodge, sitting in the trees, about 100 feet up from the shoreline. The cabin can sleep 4 comfortably, with room for others. The main floor features a bedroom with a set of bunk beds with two twin mattresses, full bathroom, a kitchen, dining room, living room and wood stove. A set of stairs leads up to the loft, which features bedroom #2, with a queen bed, sitting space and enough floor space for little ones to camp out. For those who want to adventure indoors as well, you will find a 15’ climbing wall at the end of the living room. (Liability waiver required.) Please see additional listings for private rooms, which can each sleep up to 2 guests or a dry cabin which can sleep up to 3 guests. At the end of your adventure-filled days, end the evening around the campfire or wander down to our wood-fired sauna or hot tub, and watch the midnight sun set. (Just be sure to tell us if you want to use these amenities, as they can take 2-3hrs to warm up). This is a unique, healthy experience, with the best views imaginable, in the remote bush of Alaska. We can provide all family style meals needed (check on diet needs and allergies) and offer various excursions. Message us to inquire further. Guest access Lake Clark is completely off the road system, located about 150 air miles southwest of Anchorage and accessible only by plane. You will need to fly into Port Alsworth by wheel plane or float plane. You can book travel with either Lake Clark Air or Lake & Pen Air. After flying into the little town of Port Alsworth, we will be there to pick you up by boat and you'll leave the busy plane activity behind as you travel across the lake to our lodge, located in the much quieter, remote Dice Bay. Our lodge is a haven of serenity, in the remote beautiful wilderness of Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. Have access to a small plane? You are welcome to land directly in our bay with a float plane or wheels plane at a runway behind the lodge and we'll meet you up top by four-wheeler. THE FLIGHT OUT Have your camera ready - when the skies are clear, the flight out here is an "IMAX Theatre Trip". You will fly thru mountain passes, between towering mountains, above glaciers, rivers and waterfalls and even past two volcanoes, Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Illiamna. If you're lucky, you'll even see some wildlife along the way - beluga whales, grizzly, black bear, moose - keep your eyes open! Using the two main flight services, this flight is around an hour each way. FROM THE LODGE Right from the lodge, you will have access to take walks through grizzly territory, venture out in to the bay via kayaks, paddle boards or a paddle boat or paddle around the point to the main lake and explore the rock cliffs. As such, we ask that our guests limit streaming and uploading. PHONE SERVICE: Mobile phone service is only available through internet connection. If you need assistance to make a call, we have a shared internet (in the lodge) that can be utilized as needed. NOTE: There is no phone or WIFI service available more than 75 ' away from the main lodge. AMENITIES: In addition to our hot tub, sauna and firepit, there are kayaks, paddle boards and a paddle boat available for complimentary evening use or to venture out and explore during the day, inquire about rates. You can also hike the beach or rent a four-wheeler to explore the trails around the lodge. HOSTS: My Wife and I live on the main level of the lodge. We love our little slice of paradise and are available for recommendations before or during your trip. With that said, you will have as much peace and quiet as you desire, other than the occasional footsteps or light voices. MEALS: This cabin is set up to be self-sufficient. However, you are welcome to join us for prepared meals. Plans must be arranged a week in advance of your stay. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please allow at least two weeks in advance so we can fly in the right ingredients for you! The nearest grocery store is in Anchorage, so make sure to plan your food accordingly. MEDICAL: Due to our remote location, there is no pharmacy accessible. You are advised to travel with any medical necessities. ACTIVITIES: With Sockeye Salmon, Grayling, Lake Trout and Northern Pike all available close by, you will find some of the best fishing Alaska has to offer. We have excursions available to book, which include all the gear you need for a fishing trip and creating the memories of a lifetime. Oftentimes, even beginners end up with a fish at the end of their line. We know the perfect place to teach you how to fly fish. You may also book a quick boat ride across the lake, so you can hike up Tanalian mountain or to the breath-taking Tanalian falls. At a designated time, we will pick you back up to come back to the lodge, for a dinner overlooking the bay. Whether you relax on the deck with a book and a cup of tea, pull a log up by the firepit or sit on a rock next to the lake, you will find a peaceful and tranquil setting that would be hard to match anywhere.
