Cottage Farmhouse Apartment in Heart of Vermont!

Welcome to our charming second-floor cottage-apartment in our historic 1830s brick farmhouse! This cozy space is completely redecorated for guests and features a comfortable queen bed in the sleeping area, a vintage farmhouse kitchen, and a lovely living/dining room with maple floors and travertine in the bathroom. Enjoy the peaceful country setting with eastern mountain views and active farm fields. Wake up to glorious morning sun and blackout shades for a good night’s sleep. The space We invite you to come, sit back and relax at this gorgeous country location that will bring you back in time, nestled into the Vermont countryside. Wonderful spot for a stay-cation, work from home alternative, or a family retreat (we even provide some kids toys and books). We are close to Montpelier, Vermont's beautiful state capital. Our non-smoking home is located on a quiet country road (town maintained), surrounded by active farmland. We are only a mile off paved roads (nice to know when the roads get messy) and the hills are gentle. We are right in the middle of farm country - small dairy, corn and equestrian. The second floor apartment is reached by one set of stairs and has its own ample private entrance hall. The apartment gets great sun/light and has distant views to the east and west. We have a large parking area where you can park in all seasons and we ask that our guests remove their shoes in the front entry. The apt. has a kitchen with fridge, cooktop, really nice toaster oven for baking, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and everything you'll need for basic cooking. We have coffee and a nice tea selection (with honey) waiting for guests in the apt. Heat and AC can be individually controlled and we have new privacy curtains between the bedroom and living room if you are utilizing the extra futon for your group. We offer basic WiFi TV service at the house (including HBO), but given our rural location we don't get everything and we provide movies and a DVD player as well; ‘smart’ TV is ready for use with your own streaming platforms. We ask that you remove all shoes in the entry hall to help us keep those apartment floors in great shape. We are a non-smoking/vaping household and ask our guests to respect that requirement. AND, we are proudly powered by renewable energy - our home is solar powered and we use pellets for central heating! Your hosts are also your neighbors! Anything you need or any questions have please just message us as we are usually around. Note - this IS an old farmhouse in the country and the occasional mouse has been known to quietly sneak through the back of the cabinets. We also have the occasional house fly that shows up on a window or two at random times of the year. Just want you to know that you'll be staying in a REAL country home with a REAL country feel. Guest access We welcome you to share our wonderful front porch in the warmer months with views to Spruce Mountain. Other things to note Location: We are a great location for visiting Montpelier, the vibrant Vermont state capitol, ski resorts, and many sweet towns in between. There are many small farms, breweries, general stores and shopping malls all within an easy drive, yet the house is in an idyllic rural setting with fields and abundant walking, skiing, snowshoeing and immediate access to the VAST trails right out the back door. There are views from each window and you have complete privacy. The apartment: We have a small hypo allergenic dog, Little Bear, who is around when we’re around. If you have allergies to cats or dogs, we may not be the right place for you. We use natural cleaning products whenever possible and keep the place in beautiful shape. We take extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces in between each guest. Linens are washed with natural products. We supply a down duvet and cover as well as comfy blankets and pillows. We are proudly powered by renewable energy (solar and pellets)! Discount rates assume two person occupancy. Let us know if you have more people in your party - we have a small up charge. If you need 2 bedrooms, let us know - we have an extra bedroom to offer in a separate listing. Please - no shoes in the apartment, and no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.
