The Portage Lakes Nautical House

Come experience everything the unique Portage Lakes has to offer! You’ll love the close proximity to the lake - the house is within walking distance to restaurants, bars, Pier 619: which offers pontoon boat, kayak, and stand up paddle board rentals; and Turkeyfoot Golf Course. The house is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. The space The Nautical House is a two-story dwelling. It is a NON-SMOKING of any kind residence. Located on the second floor is the spacious master bedroom (Captain's Quarters) with a king bed, roll-top desk, and a large closet. The second bedroom (Mate's Quarters) has a queen bed and closet. Also a half-bath. One bedroom (Crew's Quarters) on the main floor has one queen bed and a large wardrobe. A full bath, kitchen, dining room, living room, and foyer complete the main floor. The small laundry room entrance is off the kitchen. The Nautical House acquired it's name from it's close proximity to the historic Portage Lakes and it's decor. Guest access Guests have complete access to all living areas. We also have a laundry room stocked with detergent and dryer sheets. And an ironing board and iron in the master bedroom. Sorry, no access to garage/basement area. Other things to note Our usual procedure is to wash all linens in hot water and dry on high heat. Bleach is used with the white linens. The mattress pads and pillow protectors are changed each time. If the guests use extra blankets they are washed as well. We have always disinfected the house, paying special attention to light switches, banisters, remotes, faucet handles, door knobs, kitchen appliances, everything the human hand touches. The floors are scrubbed, the carpets are vacuumed, and everything is dusted after every stay. The bathrooms are cleaned with bleach. This is our usual cleaning process. This is a NON-SMOKING of any kind residence. The refrigerator is stocked with bottled water. We also supply body wash, hand soap, shampoo, and toothpaste. As well as paper goods: paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, napkins, paper plates and bowls, and plastic cups and silverware. There is a flat-screen TV with Roku; and free WiFi. As well as a DVD player. We also provide extra pillows and blankets, bed linens, and plenty of clean towels. A charcoal grill is accessible for cooking out --don't the forget the s'mores. We strive to supply the Nautical House with all of the amenities that we would appreciate when staying in a vacation home. Although we do not require guests to check in with us upon arrive and departure, it would be appreciated if you would drop us an email when you arrive and when you leave. We would also appreciate it if you would leave the Nautical House in the same cleanly condition in which you found it. However, it is not necessary to change the beds, or wash the towels and other linens....that is my job. :-)
