Our 2BR, 1BA eco-friendly chalet is tucked back from the road, with distant neighbors and fast WiFi. You can be surrounded by nature but only minutes from lovely restaurants, local shops, grocery store, gas station and tons of trails, rivers & lakes for snowshoeing, XC, snowmobiling, hiking, huts, MTB, kayaking & more. The space This 2BR 1BA (plus open loft space) home is new construction that was thoughtfully built to be environmentally friendly and carbon neutral – hardware floors throughout and beautiful pine tree posts and beams harvested from the land make this a cozy, beautiful retreat. Tucked back from the road on 3.84 acres with distant neighbors, you can be surrounded by nature but under 5 minutes to downtown Kingfield. We have seen a great horned owl, turkeys, a fox, coyote, deer, piliated woodpeckers, a mink (we think) all on the property, plus the view of a billion stars on a clear night. This space is perfect for active folks with access to trails (MTB, ATV, XC/Nordic, snowshoe, etc.) and the mountain, or those who want to curl up by the woodstove with a book. In warmer months, enjoy access to mountain bike and hiking trails ranging in difficulty and explore the excellent handiwork of the Maine Huts & Trails association. Hang around the property and swing in a hammock, or venture out at night to the firepit for s'mores. The chalet is open concept and combines the kitchen, dining, and living room as the perfect space to build memories with friends and family. It sleeps 5 adults comfortably. One bedroom has a Both full sized beds, the other with a queen. The third bed is a comfortable Double mattress on a platform in the loft. Don’t worry about being cold. The heat pump keeps the house warm on its own , and guest are able to use the woodstove for additional heat and overall comfy coziness. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, dishware, pots, pans, oil, vinegar, and all the basics including a coffee maker, microwave and toaster. Towels and linens are provided. A drying rack is provided to dry out wet gear after a long day of adventuring. There is blazing fast 300mbps internet, speed-tested at over 200mbps via WiFi. The loft features a dedicated remote work station: an antique desk adorned with 2 monitors and additional charge & display cables. There is no TV… as they say in Maine, it’s “camp” – bring some books, cards and board games (or enjoy ours'), unplug and relax! Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the whole home. 3 cars are able to park in the driveway. Other things to note We have fast wifi, computer monitors and plenty of books and games for entertainment and guest enjoyment, but there is no television. If you want to watch TV / movies, please be sure to bring your own computer or other media device!
