Close to Åsnen, its national park and free nature

With the lake Åsnen at sight, open fields around it and the forest behind, this place can offer all the best of Swedish countryside. The cottage is across the courtyard to the main house. Your entrance is facing mine, but outside the backdoor you´ll find all the space you need to be on your own. Nice beaches on convenient distance and within a radius of 10 km you will find cosy cafés, farmers shops and much more. And not to forget: Åsnen National Park, of which I´m certified as a collaborator. The space If you want to be in the countryside with a close access to the lake as well as to the forest and still at a convenient distance to shops and services, this is the perfect location. In Grimslöv, 3 km away, you´ll find a well equipped grocery shop. The main city of the county, Växjö, is 25 km away. Here you can find all the services you may need as well as the Swedish National Museum of Glass and other sights. But let´s concentrate on the Åsnen area, where we are right now. With its vast amount of islands, peninsulas, bays and creeks, the Åsnen lake is unique of its kind. It´s one of the 20 biggest lakes in Sweden and holds a nature and a biodiversity around it that four years ago rendered parts of it the status of a national park. The main entrances to the national park are about 10-15 km from my place. Thanks to an increasing amount of visitors during summer, a number of cosy cafés and farmers shops have emerged within the area around. There are of course plenty of places to take a swim in Åsnen. The best beach on a close distance is in Torne, 3 km away with a convenient cycling road to it. Within 2 km in the other direction you´ll find the Sjöby beach and close to one of the national park entrances you´ll find the lovely beach of Hulevik. At a camping site 2 km from my place you are able to rent boats and canoes. If you just want to take a walk down to the lake it´s about 1 km from my place. As for culture and history there are also interesting sights on a close distance. The most renowned is Huseby Bruk, a historical site with a long-term tradition of ironworks, blacksmith´s, forestry, farming and a mysterious connection to the Swedish Royal Family.
