Set high on a hill, overlooking the jungle-covered contours of Southern Sri Lanka, Satori Villa is 10 minutes away from a coastline of stunning soft sand beaches, World Heritage Site Galle Fort and only 1.5 hours south from the capital city, Colombo. Recommended by Condé Nast and Harper’s Bazaar, our Dutch-style colonial villa with its two adjoining satellite villas can sleep from six to fifteen guests in stylishly furnished four-poster bedrooms providing a luxurious home from home experience. The space Satori offers guests the opportunity to experience real peace and relaxation in a natural setting and yet is located close to numerous local adventures and activities. The villa is fully staffed with a Manager and a chef on hand . You can expect a sumptuous menu of traditional local delicacies and international dishes as well as child friendly options. All our produce is bought fresh and daily from the local markets. Whether you’re a family, several families or a friendship group, you’ll find a unique experience in this corner of paradise. We invite you to step out of the everyday and into the extraordinary. The main villa accommodates up to eight guests in three air-conditioned bedrooms: a double en-suite master bedroom (Wewal) and two en-suite triple family suites (Katayam and Raenda). Raenda has an outside “Jungle” bathroom. Located within a few steps of the main villa , the Coach House, suitable for 2-4 guests, is an open-plan 1100 sq ft two bedroom air-conditioned suite. This beautiful Balinese-style building overlooks the infinity pool, while to the rear, antique double doors lead up a stone staircase to the yoga shala on the jungle ridge and the ocean view beyond. The villa has a huge private veranda with white muslin curtains and an open mahogany balustrade. Inside, there is a large double bed in the main space, a partly outdoor en-suite bathroom and an attached ante room with a second large double bed. Rustic Dutch-style tiles and comfortable sofas piled with soft cushions enhance the relaxed and stylish space. Last but not least is the Garden Villa. This suite sleeps 2-3 guests in a double and single bed in a large air-conditioned room. This suite has an attached bathroom looking out into nature and there is also a good sized veranda with its own hammock to relax in. Passion fruit vines weave their way around the Colonial columns and you can sit in one of the planters chairs and enjoy the views and the nature teeming with life around you. Guest access There is ample parking at the villa should guests arrive in their own transport. For local trips the staff can organise tuk-tuks, or, for larger parties/longer trips air-conditioned mini-vans plus driver can be hired by the day/half day for a modest sum. Other things to note For dining at the villa we encourage all of our guests to take full advantage of our amazing chef who has put together some suggested menus that include a wide variety of both Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Your meals are charged on a simple and transparent “grocery shopping cost+20%” basis. We deliberately do not keep a large food inventory at Satori, choosing instead to buy our ingredients fresh each day. So every morning we invite you to sit with our chef to look through the menus for inspiration and decide what your party would like to eat later that day. It really is that simple! Satori commands spectacular hilltop location and therefore has been constructed and landscaped in terraces with external stairs/steps linking various villas and outside spaces.
