Welcome! This boutique 2nd floor suite is completely private and has a separate entrance. From guidebook to decor to bespoke kitchenette, we've put care into every detail to make sure our guests have the best experience. Located on a quiet street 10 minutes from downtown, Germantown, East Nashville, and the Grand Ole Opry and only 15 minutes drive to the airport. Guests of all backgrounds are welcomed - we look forward to sharing part of our beloved home with you! The space We've created a space for our guests that we ourselves would love to stay in. As musicians/photographers, we know what it's like to be on the road, so we've used that experience to create a space that feels peaceful and comfortable. Our stone cottage was built in 1930 but was renovated to the studs in 2017, so it has all the charm of an old home with all the modern conveniences such as central heat and air (you have your own thermostat, by the way). The guest suite is around 800 square feet, so you'll have plenty of space to relax in. The main room is a long open space containing a bar/kitchenette area with a marble-top bistro table, a comfy sofa and tv, a reading nook, and a queen sized bed. The kitchenette has dishware, glasses and mugs, pourover coffee maker / tea kettle, microwave, refrigerator, and a toaster oven. We even have some sealable containers in case you have leftovers. The comfy nailhead sofa looks onto the 40" Samsung TV - so when you get back from a long day of sightseeing you can stream some Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and HBO GO. Or go old school and spin some records on the Crosley turntable. Wifi is fast and reliable so you won't miss out on any news from home. You'll also find a basket full of magazines like W, Garden&Gun, Time, Golf Digest, and Vogue among others. For business travelers, there is a desk space with drawers, writing utensils, and a study lamp, with easy access to AC plugs for your laptop. There's also a nice sized walk-in closet with plenty of room to hang clothes and store luggage. It has a full-length mirror. Iron and ironing board are provided. The master bath has a gorgeous walk-in shower, a vintage vanity with mirror, as well as a separate toilet room. Double sinks make getting ready a breeze. The queen sized bed has gotten some major compliments, even from a friend who had back problems. It's on the firm side but is very comfortable and restful. It's topped by a soft wool Pendleton blanket which will keep you warm in classic style. Additional blankets are available if you need. We've put together a manual/guidebook for the airbnb, which also includes an extensive list of our favorite restaurants, bars, and cafes in town. We also highlight some entertainment hotspots that we think you'll enjoy. The back deck is available to our guests and we provide some chairs and a table, in case you want to enjoy your morning coffee or a nightcap outside. There is also fire pit available upon request. We ask for quiet hours after 11pm. Lastly, just a note - in 2018, we shared our entire home with guests, which may be reflected in some of the guest reviews. In 2019, we converted our living space so that guests have their own completely private suite upstairs. Guest access Our guests will have access to their suite through the back door only. There is a key code for the door, which we will give you as your booking reservation approaches. Please remember to lock the door when you leave! The guest suite is upstairs and that area is all yours during your stay. Our own private residence is on the first floor of the house. Guests are free to use the back patio, which has patio chairs and a table. We also have a fire pit in the backyard that guests are welcome to use upon advance request. We also have a charcoal BBQ grill, also available upon request. Our dog, Sharkey, is a small terrier mix - half westie and half fiest. She is 18 lbs and LOVES people, so if you see her, feel free to say hi! As you come and go through the back gate, please make sure it gets closed and latched so Sharkey stays safely in the yard. If you're hanging out on the back patio, don't be surprised if she comes up to say hello. Other things to note We have hosted all types of people through AirBNB but have learned that our home is best suited for business travelers, couples, international travelers, and people who are here to experience all the wonderful music, food, and culture that Nashville has to offer. We love hosting people who are fun, but don't party to excess. If consuming copious amounts of alcohol is part of your plan, we'd encourage you to find a more suitable accommodation. Although the upstairs suite is private, we are still sharing our home and would ask that guests be mindful of noise, especially from 10pm-8am. Since we're talking about the rules, a couple more notes on that front... -Absolutely no guns, weapons or illegal drugs on the property (not even in your car). -No parties. -No guests who are not part of the Airbnb reservation allowed in our home (this is for insurance purposes, sorry). No overnight guests under any circumstances. -Please keep all food and beverage (excluding water) in the kitchenette/dining area. Our family gained a new member in 2020! We do our absolute best to keep her happy and quiet, but you may hear our baby from time to time. The guest suite is carpeted and pretty well sound proofed, but we do want guests to be aware of this before they book. She's a very happy baby and is quiet more often that not, but she does occasionally cry. So far we've had no complaints and some guests weren't even aware that we have a baby in the house. We do provide earplugs and a fan for white noise if you'd like to use either of those.
