Please message for availability: Lovely beachfront flat, sit and watch the tide come in & out, go down to the beach for a swim, or enjoy the history in Leigh on Sea or nightlife & shopping in Southend. Chalkwell Parkrun is directly in front of the flat every Saturday at 9am, lots of other sports & activities are nearby. Great restaurants, bars, cafes and ice cream spots nearby. this is our loved weekend place, not a party property - it’s a very comfortable home from home. The space This is our weekend home, and furnished in a high standard throughout. One of the best things about the flat is the view, however as it is a typical Victorian conversions it is unfortunately NOT suitable for anyone with accessibility needs. We block the calendar for our own use, but please send a message if you want to double check availability as we don't always use our blocked dates. It's a lovely 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom flat with uninterrupted view of the Thames Estuary. The beach is accessible by stairs in front of the flat, and it is easy to navigate with a buggy, bike or a paddleboard (available for an extra fee on request) The living room is comfortable with a large new sofa, armchairs, smart tv and family dvd's/games. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need to cook and bake if that's the kind of thing you like to do on holiday. The main bathroom has a bath with overbath shower, loo, sink & heather towel rail, the second bathroom has a loo and sink. Two bedrooms are available, we lock off the third bedroom/study with our things when guests stay. First bedroom has a small double Hypnos mattress which is medium firm - but I'd say quite firm! There is plenty of room for a cot or toddler bed (arranged on request) there’s a wardrobe and chest of drawers, a lumier clock and blackout shades. Second bedroom has a double bunk, bottom bed is a Joseph mattress quite soft - a bit like sleeping in a very comfy cloud! Single bed has a decent foam mattress suitable for a child or slim adult. The room has a chest of drawers, large wardrobe and a bay window with blackout blind. All of the bedding is good quality 100% cotton and is new/refreshed often. The main bedroom is at the rear of the flat and has a door leading to a gated terrace, which then has steps leading to the lovely patio garden. The garden has established plants designed to attract pollinators, and looks lovely from spring to autumn. There is a patio table with 4 comfy chairs and a parasol. A gas weber bbq is available on request. The garden is a bit of a suntrap from midday to when the sun goes down but there are shady areas to cool off in. There is access to the street via a locked gate & locked alleyway - great if you are taking a paddleboard to the beach or a bike along the coastal path. Guest access Free parking on the street - it is one of the few free parking streets so parking can be tricky at peak times. There is not a disabled parking bay but there is paid parking close by. Westcliff train station is about 6 minutes walk away (it's at the top of the adjoining street) Other things to note The hall has a step in it and the front door to the flat is quite narrow. A child's buggy can be left in the lobby if folded, but a wheelchair would unfortunately not fit. The steps leading down to the garden are fairly steep and children must be supervised at all times for safety. We have a toddler and have made the flat as safe as we can, but we have not fitted an interior stair gate because we could not get one to fit correctly. To maintain the quality of our home we accept a maximum of 4 people (2 couples or 1-2 adults plus 1-2 children)
