Set on the edge of Bideford, within easy reach of some of North Devon’s most popular beaches, this uniquely restored 17th century Coach House is the perfect home from home. Suitable for families or groups, within walking distance of Bideford Quay. The space Adjoining the main residence, The Coach House is a newly- renovated self- contained home. To its front a beautiful cosy outdoor seating area is available for guests’ private use, and there are parking spaces for two cars on the gravel driveway. Accessed via your own private entrance, the ground floor comprises an open plan living, dining, kitchen area with parquet flooring, areas of original exposed stone walls, and wooden ceiling beams throughout. A beautiful wrought iron staircase, with cosy work area beneath, leads upstairs to 1 x king bedroom, 1 x double bedroom with additional single high sleeper (for use by children aged 6 years plus only/NO adults are permitted on the high sleeper), and a family bathroom (bath with overhead shower), all of which have vaulted, beamed, ceilings. Please specify after booking your preferred arrangement for the double bedroom: Option 1 - double bed centred/no access to high sleeper, or Option 2 - double bed to side with ladder access to high sleeper. Please see photos. Guest access The Coach House is approached via a driveway shared with the main residence. There are two allocated parking spaces. Private gardens surround the Coach House with a cosy gravel seating area exclusively for guest use directly in front of the Coach House. Other things to note Please note: Unfortunately the Coach House does not accept any pets. There is an outdoor shower to the side of the Coach House that is shared with other guests. Please see grounds map in photos. Bedroom 2: The single bed in the second bedroom is a ‘high sleeper’ above the double bed, accessed only by a ladder, and is solely for the use of children aged six years and over. No adults are permitted on the high sleeper. Accompanying adults are responsible for any child’s safety whilst using the high sleeper bed. Please specify room set-up following booking, Option 1 - double bed centred in room/no access to high sleeper, or Option 2 - double bed to side with ladder access to high sleeper (please see photos). The beautiful spiral staircase is the sole access to the first floor and may not be suitable for some younger children. No stair gate is provided. Due to the property’s age, some areas of original parquet flooring are uneven - hence the ‘shoes off at door policy’. We recommend guests bring slippers/house shoes. The Coach House is situated part way up a steep hill. The freezer is a small compartment forming part of the under counter fridge.
