Description
New to the rental market in Spring 2022. Jasmine Cottage is a charming , dog friendly 19th century cottage situated in a peaceful location only a few minutes stroll from the beautiful historic harbour of Boscastle. It is perfect as a year round couples getaway or summer seaside escape for a family of four. Boscastle is a stunning spot with lovely walking, a choice of pubs(all dog friendly) and restaurants and is ideally located to explore the beauty of the North Cornwall coast and beyond. The space Once part of a stable block that served nearby Penally House, Jasmine cottage looks out over a grassed area and has views from the rear down the valley towards the harbour. The Cottage is full of Cornish charm, decorated in soft coastal greys, blues and greens with exposed wood flooring, feature fireplaces, deep set windows and a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings. In addition, there are modern smart electric radiators in each room keeping it warm and cosy in the winter months. Living Set on the ground floor, the living room has bags of character with exposed floor boards, a barn style sliding door giving access to the kitchen, and new wood burning stove. It is a wonderful spot to cosy up on the comfy sofas in front of the stove in the cooler months. For entertainment there is a smart TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime for subscribers and a range of board games. Eating The newly fitted galley kitchen on the ground floor has everything you need to rustle up meals with shaker style cabinets in cool grey, oak laminate worktops and slate tiled- floor. There is a large fridge freezer, double oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. At the end of the kitchen is a neat dining area which comfortably seats four. Sleeping Set on the first floor are three cosy bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, large wardrobe and feature fireplace. The second bedroom has a double bed set against the wall, hanging rail and chest of drawers. The third bedroom has a single bed and tallboy. Bathing The tiled bathroom is on the first floor with a wash basin, WC, and bath with shower over. Outdoor Space To the front of Jasmine Cottage is a small sunny garden with a bench and table and chairs for morning coffee in the sun. The garden is enclosed with a picket fence. Eating Out A short walk up the hill from Jasmine Cottage is a delightful well stocked farm shop and café which offers excellent local produce, great breakfasts/lunches and wonderful views. The Rocket Store in the harbour is a top notch eatery specialising in local seafood. There are three pubs all serving food, together with the Riverside Restaurant and a range of cafes and tearooms. Or pick up a pasty in the Cornish Stores deli or Boscastle Bakery. A short drive takes you to Port Isaac where you will find Nathan Outlaw’s renowned restaurant and a little further on is Padstow with Rick Stein’s and Paul Ainsworth’s eateries. In the Area Boscastle is designated as an area of outstanding beauty. The picturesque medieval harbour and surrounding coastline is owned and looked after by the National Trust. There are stunning walks on the South West Coast path or up the Valency Valley from the doorstep of Jasmine Cottage. Head west and within a short drive you’ll find Trebarwith Strand beach, historic Tintagel, pretty Port Isaac, the beaches at Polzeath, Rock, Padstow and the Camel Estuary. To the east is the long expanse of beach at Widemouth Bay and coastal resort of Bude. Guest access It is only a short stroll from the cottage to the shops and harbour. The property has its own private parking which is rare in Boscastle. Guests have use of a detached single garage suitable for a medium sized car. A car can also be parked in the layby opposite the entrance to the cottage and there is a public car park a short stroll down the hill. Buses run regularly from Boscastle to Bude and Wadebridge and villages in between. Other things to note Bookings during school holidays are from Friday to Friday only. During the rest of the year minimum 3 night stay. One well behaved dog allowed by arrangement. There is a small front garden enclosed by a picket fence.
