The space This is a two bedroom one bath home South of Sunriver by La Pine State Park and the Deschutes National Forest. The home sits on a fenced, private acre, and is nestled in the trees. Other things to note There is a nice hammock and picnic table on the property. There is also a bbq available upon request. Fun Places to Explore Lava Lands Visitor Center: Between Bend and La Pine (easier to get to going South) Visitor Center, Lava Trails and butte (can get free passes to drive to the top) La Pine State Park: Walkable distance has Trails, River, Swimming and Picnic Area, Park, “The Big Tree”, dogs allowed on leash. State park pass may be required (different from NFS pass) National Forest Service Land: Walkable distance has forest service roads, dogs allowed off lead (note: beware you probably won’t see them but may hear coyotes-could be dangerous for small dogs off lead) Newberry Crater: east of 97 in La Pine, has lakes, trails and a wonderful view when you drive to the top. Lava Caves: Between La Pine and Bend (easier to get to going North off of 97) Long Cave, amazing cave. Small fee to enter, use of lights recommended, cool under the ground bring jacket. Sun River: Tourist town, located between La Pine and Bend, walking trails, nature center, grocery store, restaurants and shopping Cascade Lakes Highway: Driving Loop includes many lakes and Mt Bachelor Crater Lake National Park: A National Park, located south of La Pine a couple of hours.
