The Cottagette
A lovely "Doll House" (almost small enough to be a "tiny house") in a rural area in the middle of Finger Lakes wine country. This is a place where you can enjoy staying in and relaxing just as much as you can enjoy going out to nearby attractions. SPECIAL SALE: For the months of January, February and March, the Cottagette will be available for a special rate of $929/mo. $350/wk. It's our guest house (across the driveway from the main house), situated on our 16 acres, where five wineries are within walking distance, Seneca Lake is two miles away and the Finger Lakes National Forest is three. There's free parking, high-speed internet, cable TV, heat, A/C, double bed, a fully equipped kitchenette with coffee beans for the grinder, and a small deck overlooking your own back yard. A very special feature is that pure, natural, New York State spring water runs through the Cottagette's pipes. This is some of the finest water in the world, and there's even a ceramic filter for the drinking water tap. Sturdy shoes and a five-minute walk will take you into our woods and down to Sawmill Creek gorge which runs through our property. Being in the center of the wineries but still this close to nature is truly amazing. Perfect for a romantic getaway, a peaceful respite, an artist's retreat or just a nice quiet place to base yourself while exploring. Guests will have access to almost our entire property, including a trail through our woods to our gorge, and one to a fire pit and nature pond. There's a table, chairs and a barbecue on the Cottagette deck. We enjoy greeting our guests but beyond that, we respect their privacy and only interact with them at their discretion. You are welcome to arrive on your own schedule any time after 3 pm. We are available, though, 24/7 should there be any problem. Amid the homes of country folk there's a convenience store and gas station, a church, two restaurants and a diner within walking distance, yard sales in the summer, as well as the Hector Parade (fire trucks, tractors and more plus candy thrown to the kids) then the Hector Fair begins. Very safe neighborhood. Because we're in a rural area, there is no public transit. We're not birders, but we've been told there are many kinds of birds on the property., because of its overlapping ecosystems.
