It is just a few miles south of Abilene in beautiful tree-filled Buffalo Gap, near the Abilene State Park and Lake and the renowned Perini Ranch Steakhouse. Guests can enjoy an afternoon of deer-watching among the oak trees, exploring the park, shopping or joining cultural activities in Abilene. Plus, it's right across the street from the famous Buffalo Gap Historic Village, which is a must-see! The space Built in 1829, this house has been lovingly restored to showcase it original wooden floors, high ceilings, and old-style furniture. It is the oldest house in Taylor County still in its original location, but features the most modern of amenities. It is catercorner from the Buffalo Gap Historic Village, a delightful compilation of actual West Texas homes and buildings from the 1870s to the 1920s. The building sits on a quiet street backing up to open fields where deer and other wildlife abound. Guest access The downstairs is fully accessible. It includes all living/dining/kitchen facilities, plus one king bedroom and a full bathroom. The other three bedrooms are upstairs. There is plenty of onsite free parking for your whole party to enjoy. Other things to note The Historic Village is open Tues-Sat, 10 am - 5 pm, so plan your trip to visit it. Be sure to check the days/hours of area restaurants online as they change from time-to-time. The famous Buffalo Gap Flea Market is the third weekend of each month, rain or shine. You're sure to find a treasure or two there.
