The Tree House

The Tree House is a one in a million house, property and spot in nature, and is located in a little town that is surrounded by mountains&in the bush with the Great Olifants River running through it and is a 15 minute drive from Middelburg & Witbank in Mpumalanga & only 1.5 hours from Jo'burg&Pretoria. The house has two extravagant beautifully furnished&decorated luxurious bedrooms with fabulous en suite bathrooms&absolutely everything you will need for a weekend or holiday you will never forget The space The house is definitely like nothing you have EVER seen before - it really is a giant tree house, made of solid tree stumps and thatch, with magnificent rustic and solid wood finishes, top of the range appliances, fabulous decor and furnishings with so much attention to detail, and surrounded by a canopy of indigenous trees, mountains and with views on the Great Olifants River. It has so much glass for light and views, and large retractable wooden glass sliding doors in every room, that allow views of the bush and beautiful surrounding areas, indigenous trees, Lanatus cycads, and sandstone rocks to flow in. There are two expansive luxurious bedrooms, one with a kingsize extra length bed and two single bed sized day beds (can accommodate two adults, and two children if necessary), and the other bedroom with a queensize extra length bed. Each bedroom has a full en suite very spacious bathroom with fabulous "stone" baths, impressive upmarket stainless steel showers with adjustable settings, and rustic granite basins. There is lots of cupboard space, and one of the bedrooms has a sitting area too. The living area is very spacious and has two flop down couch beds with single bed mattresses that can be used to sleep two more children if necessary. (The house accommodates four adults and up to four children.) The kitchen is solid wood with over generous solid kiaat tops, has first class appliances, is fully equipped for self-catering and has everything you will need for cooking, braaiing and entertaining. There is also a Union no. 7 fireplace that is fantastic for heating and ambience in winter, and cooking potjies and baking, (not to mention it generating a constant supply of "boeretroos" too!) There are two dining areas - inside as well as on the deck, that the living area opens up on to. The deck has a view through the trees over the little town, on the Great Olifants River and the majestic mountains that circle the town. Sunsets on the deck have to be the BEST you have ever seen in your life, and all of them one of a kind. Guest access All spaces on the property are for our guests' use exclusively. Only one group is hosted at a time. Other things to note There is so much adventure to look forward to: *The Tree House is about 200m from the start of a magnificent 2.5 hour hiking trail; *You can do black bass and yellowfish fishing, as well as carp and barbel fishing in the Great Olifants River that runs through the town; *There is a nature reserve close by that offers game drives, supervised hikes and mountain biking trails (at a fee); *There is a fabulous lodge down the road that you can go to as day visitors (at a fee and depending on availability), and they offer heated indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, restaurants and pubs, kids' play areas, paddleboating, mini golf, action cricket, table tennis, snooker, big chess and more; *There is outstanding birdwatching including water species. We have noise restrictions on the town and don't accommodate parties with loud music and very noisy conversation.
