Private stone deck with fire pit, BBQ & comfortable deck furniture Summer season In-gound heated saltwater pool 16 x 40’ - technically shared with us but in reality you’ll likely have it to yourselves the majority of the time. You will not find another place quite like this for the money you will pay for it. Cozy up in 1200 square feet of light filled and spacious surroundings. Lounge on a nice cushy couch and get a great night’s sleep on some very comfortable beds. Wake up to the sounds of the birds and the wind rustling in the leaves. Take a few days off and head up to the lovely Hudson valley for a memorable trip. We promise you'll be rejuvenated. The space has been renovated to a high standard and accompanies the 1701 dutch colonial farmhouse up the hill (this is our house where we spend some weekends) . We have an eat in kitchen with induction stove top and dishwasher as well as a countertop electric oven - which works fine for casseroles, pizza etc (located in the cabinets beneath) and a full refrigerator with freezer. The kitchen packs a lot of punch andfunctions very well. Please be aware this is a good functional compact kitchen, nothing more than that. We also have a coffee plunge pot, pots and pans, dishware, bowls, cutlery and a decent selection of oils and spices. The downstairs bedroom opens onto a private stone patio and garden area at the rear of the house with a firepit, grill and outdoor furniture. FULL DETAILS OF THE PROPERTY: The cottage is set on a cul de sac and is very, very private and quiet. It is the cottage that accompanies our stone house 120 feet away. These are the only houses on the property. There are 7 acres of lawns and woodland and a lake ( I would not call the lake swimmable) . The in-ground heated saltwater Pool is just steps away and visible from the upstairs bedroom. This is a fantastic swimming pool! Please, NO PETS in the pool as we have a vinyl liner and paws have punctured it n the past. It’s got a bluestone patio surround as well as some basic pool furniture and loungers. The saltwater pool is heated and really quite a wonderful spot to soak up the sun. OPEN MID-MAY TO END OF SEPTEMBER ONLy. Be aware the area temperature tapers off significantly at night which will take the pool temperature down with it. It will heat up again during the day. We have the house next door and are up on some weekends, during which time we will have to share the pool but honestly you’ll likely have the pool to yourselves most of the time. Why is this renting so reasonably? Our other cabin listing close by is less than half the size and bizarrely rents for more money, with no pool ! We are currently at the bottom of Airbnb’s search list algorithm so book it now while it’s still cheap! Sole Use of the private back yard and stone deck area, fire pit and coal fired bbq so you can relax under a canopy of trees in total privacy. 7 acres of mixed woodlands Shared salt water pool access during pool season from late may until late September weather dependent. We have the house next door ( set a good distance away) and we are up there sporadically. We will use the pool then, so technically the pool is shared, but in all likelyhood it will be all yours, especially during the week. Did we mention it’s open mid May to late September only? There are many great trails within a very short distance from us. There is also a public canoe boat launching spot at fourth lake just around the corner from us. We’re available if you have any questions and respect our guest’s privacy. We’re around some weekends and you may or may not see us, but not all of the time. There are so many things to do and see in the surrounding towns including amazing hiking trails, swimming holes, farms & farmer's markets, apple picking, vintage stores, barn sales, restaurants and cafes. We’re fairly much equidistant from the towns of Kingston, stone ridge, Rosendale and High Falls. Best to take a car up to the house with free parking on the premises. GPS is highly recommended! Some guests have gotten the bus to kingston or rosendale and used taxi services which are available locally. We have well water which is safe to drink. The water is filtered in 2 stages, treated for sulphur smell and softened, but it WILL taste different to municipal water. Although on 7 acres of land, the house is partly visible from the road and the neighbor's house, particularly during the winter months when the trees are bare. It is however very private. We have neighbors: Please park in the parking lot before the space and not on the driveway as it's the parking for the stone house next door. We have WIFI, Roku steaming and a tv with dvd's but no cable TV service. Eat-in Kitchen is very functional with good cooking facilities; counter induction stove, counter oven and coffee plunge pot. We would not describe it as gourmand's kitchen but it works very well for the majority of guests and for ourselves when we stay there. Please be aware that we also have workmen attending to the lawns, pool and surroundings as necessary, from time to time, and cannot predict when they will arrive exactly. They are trusted hands and you will have nothing to fear. We do our best to inform the tenants of their arrival however. Horror movie tropes! You will be staying in the country and it is PITCH BLACK at night which can be very discombobulating for some city and suburban folks. Please be aware there are all kinds of creatures that go bump in the night (and day) , and the likely hood of roaming&deranged axemen is very, very slim.
