Located in bucolic New City, NY, this place is easily accessible to many different activities including amazing hikes in Hook Mountain State Park, shopping at the Palisades Mall, nightlife in Nyack, and apple picking at Dr Davies Farm. This is the gateway to the nature of the Lower Hudson Valley and the excitement of New York City all in one! The space Guests have a private entrance on the side of the house to the lower-level apartment. Please note that guests must navigate a set of stairs to reach the entrance. You enter into an elegant, well-appointed eat-in kitchen with a 4-person dining table. The kitchen has a refrigerator and freezer, microwave and convection oven, cooktop, coffee maker, electric kettle, knives, pots and pans, plates, glasses, flatware, etc. The homeowners will provide any additional appliances that are needed during your stay such as a blender, InstaPot, food processor, etc. The kitchen area is also configurable into a living area with a recliner. You'll be sure to get a good night's sleep in this comfortable queen-size bed with high-quality cotton linens. The bedroom has a 50" Roku flat-screen TV, closets (with hangers, ironing board, iron, fan), and a storage cubby with extra linens. Up to 2 additional guests can be accommodated with an air mattress and linens for an additional fee, to be negotiated with your host, in advance. The bedroom's windows look out onto a row of gorgeous pine trees. The apartment is a 375 sq ft level apartment, renovated in mid 2021, with baseboard heating, and WIFI throughout (including outdoors). Outdoors, the apartment opens onto a small deck. You have access to a gorgeous yard (the side yard is for your use) with lawn furniture. A gas grill and hammock are available upon request. The homeowners live upstairs and can provide additional amenities such as books, board games, and lawn games upon request. Guest access Guests have access to a dedicated parking spot on the driveway, the side yard, and the full apartment (with private entrance on the side of the house). Laundry access can be discussed for longer-term guests (4 weeks or more). Otherwise, there are many laundromats within driving distance. No smoking No parties or events No pets This is a quiet, residential neighbor. Be respectful of noise levels at night. 2 miles to downtown New City (shopping, dining, entertainment) 10 minutes to palisades mall 5 miles to apple picking 15 minutes to historic Nyack 30 minutes to Bear Mountain and 7 Lakes Dr. Other things to note In the fall, enjoy the peak fall foliage! Go apple picking and enjoy fresh cider donuts, or pick out a pumpkin to carve at our local orchard - less than 5 mile from the house. More good stuff! We are located in the Lower Hudson Valley in Rockland County and that means just a short distance to many amazing nature parks and other attractions. Harriman State Park and Bear Mountain are just short drives away as are Dia Beacon, Storm King sculpture park, and West Point. If you like craft beer, award winning Industrial Arts Brewery is just 15 minutes, located in the Garner Historic District. Also, great shopping at the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets is just a 25 minute drive away. Want to commute to work or just go to NYC? The home is located off of Exit 10 on the Palisades Parkway, a picturesque 30 min car ride from Manhattan. Or walk 3 minutes and you have access to an express bus to NYC.
