A delightful well equipped room 25M2 in an elegant country house with ever changing hill forest & water view in Khao Laem national park; king size bed; modern bathroom (8M2) attached; comfortable, bright, clean, peaceful & private; minutes to coffee shops, resorts, restaurants, Mon bridge & market; perfect base for couples, friends & families to explore the district & commune with nature. Kitchen, large living space, free parking, free WI-FI & soaps; super helpful & super friendly host. The space Your private room has its own private entrance from the garden; it's a bright airy room with (replanted) rosewood furniture; the big comfortable double bed has pillows, bolster, blankets, extra pillows & freshly laundered, sun & air dried, bed linen included. The atmosphere is cool & spacious with beautiful hill views over a stream or lake at seasonal flood, often with mist or cloud hiding in the hills. You've a full length mirror, a wardrobe with hangers, a towel and trouser rack or valet, a luggage rack or extra bed, a two-seater with cushions, a coffee table & various books for relaxing. The glazed windows have curtains, insect screens & security bars; your bedroom has a high ceiling with both air-conditioning & a good ceiling fan. Your own large private bathroom has modern ceramics & both a cold rain shower and a hot water shower & grab bars (there is one step up from the bedroom to the bathroom); essentials provided include freshly laundered towels sun & air dried, soap, body wash, tissues, shampoo & conditioner; there's a basin, mirror, twin mirror lights & an exhaust fan; there are rails for hanging and drip drying towels & wet clothes. Other safety & security features include locks on the bedroom doors, 3 pin shuttered electrical sockets with switches & a gated compound to provide you with a sense of safety. There are six electrical sockets & the room is well lit with six lights all with safety pull switches; you've also universal charging adapters at your finger tips and free WI-FI 24 hours. Take just four steps on the small patio through the narrow door to the big living space (attached to a fully equipped outdoor kitchen) where you can prepare and enjoy your breakfast or takeaways for example (if you like to try more serious cookery please let me know when booking); you'll find all the cooking basics, your electric kettle, grill/ toaster, plates, dishes and tableware; in your refrigerator (not a mini-fridge) you'll find milk & bottled water; you'll find FREE self-service coffee, tea too on the table. On the log stand nearby is the unlimited free filtered drinking water for you, if you need more just let me know. Please keep the kitchen insect screen closed. Please clean up after use as the area is shared. There's a large dining table & seating and another laptop friendly table; on a raised section there are throw cushions & stylish Thai cushions & coffee tables on a mat with for relaxing with a book or laptop. This large living room is a sometimes shared space with other guests. On the patio there is also an outdoor sink. Wake up to some delightful bird songs (real not reel) or catch some awesome scents of the flowers in bloom. Stay 2-3 days to make your visit more worthwhile; enough time for your senses to re-calibrate or to get in tune with nature. You have free parking on the premises or free roadside parking in front of the house with CCTV. The room has some wheelchair compatible features including: wide doorway to bedroom, wide clearance to bed, fixed grab bars in the bathroom, a handheld shower head & accessible-height toilet & bed. Villa Scenns is a unique, substantial, brick & terracotta cool country house designed & built by the current owner in 2009 in its own private gated compound. Your room and bathroom size is about three hundred and forty square feet (340ft2) or about thirty two square meters (or if your include the (sometimes shared) living space about 860ft2 eight hundred and sixty square feet. A street map of Sangkhla map surrounding areas is hanging in the living room. Guest access You've access from the gates to the shared front garden, seating & parking area; also private access to your bedroom, your private bathroom & small patio. We invite you to use the large outdoor kitchen and living/dining area on the ground floor (it's a shared space but often you'll have it to yourself as we only have three other guest rooms and I'm usually in my apartment). If you like to see the larger "chaos" garden please call me first to guide you for your safety; many exotic plants grow easily here including Passion fruit vines, Cashew, Lemon grass, Turmeric, Papaya, Lime, pink Guava, Kaffir lime, Cinnamon, Lemon, Sesame & much more. During your stay You will be welcomed on arrival by me &/or my family; after introductions and a room guide you will have complete privacy; once a day, if we don't see you, I will usually contact you to check all is well. You can contact me (or Sea) if you have any questions at all; please feel free as I'm both the doorman & concierge; I live upstairs & I am usually available to give you guidance on anything relating to your stay; we will always offer to help you if we can. I love meeting new people so I'm happy to chat with you if you wish & if time allows; I like to learn of your local adventures. One friendly dog owns us but lives next door & won't visit your space; if you love dogs you can be introduced to her too. Your house mates, if any, are usually very few as we've only three other rooms; you may not see anyone else apart from me. We're very happy to give you face-to-face recommendations of any secret spots or local sights not yet online in the area if you wish; Sangkhla is not on the tourist trail yet & the nearest TAT tourist office is 200 km away in Kanchanaburi. You don't share any space with us besides the living/dining area, gardens, front gates and parking area. Other things to note Affordable laundry & mobile phone cash top-up machines 70 meters from Villa Scenns; clothes drying: you can sun dry clothes on the metal bar dryer at Villa Scenns. You can find us in Sangkhlaburi district part of Kanchanaburi province (not to be confused with Kanchanaburi town the capital of the Kanchanaburi province). Tribulations; As electricity generators and internet servers are far away through hundreds of miles of jungle, utility cuts can happen occasionally, usually not for long; voltages fluctuate & water flow can slow sometimes too as in many countryside spots in Thailand. We hope you won't notice any of these but please be patient in case. Mobile phone coverage is usually constant so keeping your SIM topped up is not a bad idea in case internet is down.
