Lakefront getaway with open air kitchen & movies

Welcome to SunsetView, our lakefront tiny cabin. This couples retreat is nestled on the waters edge of Lake Restoule. We have created a warm, open concept space with a boho-scandinavian aesthetic inside and rustic amenities outdoors. It is the perfect place to enjoy the simple pleasure of being in nature but with all the modern conveniences so you really don't have to rough it too hard.Sunset View is a true glamping experience with all the comforts of home. Luxury bedding + towels included. The space We believe that spending time in nature is therapeutic. SunsetView was designed to help you slow down, unwind and just breathe. When you arrive you will head down a few steps to get to the property and then up a step onto the Sunset View deck. Go to the left and enter the tiny cabin where there is a bedroom with memory foam queen mattress, crisp white sheets, and a pile of down blankets and pillows. There is a kitchenette which has all of the essentials you need to get the day started...a toaster, mini fridge, mugs, dishes, glassware, silverware and most importantly, the coffee bar, where you will find everything you need to make the perfect brew. The sitting area, which faces the lake, is filled with a mix of vintage and locally sourced custom pieces and there are crates of board games, puzzles and books. Walk across the cabin deck and you will enter another structure which houses the open air kitchen and the bathroom. For all the foodies that want to create delish meals lakeside we have added Camp Chef outdoor cooking appliances and all the tools you need to create 5 star meals just steps from the water. The outdoor kitchen is equipped with oils and spices so just pack some protein and veggies and you are ready to fire up the flat top grill!! The bathroom has a cedar lined rainfall shower with a view of the sky and trees and an environmentally friendly composting toilet. The cabin faces west and each night the sky explodes with colour as the sun drops into the lake...this view never gets old. Outdoors on the Sunset View property is where all the magic happens. There is a waterfront deck with 2 muskoka chairs which are just perfect to enjoy your morning coffee and a live edge bar and barstools. We have just added a covered pergola with the most comfortable Norka bean bag chairs. You have a private campfire pit with 2 Muskoka chairs and a pile of firewood...You have access to the Sunset View Beach, 2 kayaks, a loon floatie, a hammock, picnic table and lots of white sparkly lights which light up the night. Guest access Sunset View has a dedicated parking space for our guests. Other things to note We are located Restoule, Ontario which is a very small, Northern Ontario town..population 455. Lake Restoule is 9 miles long and very quiet. The shoreline is dotted with many old school cottages that have been there for decades. You rarely hear anything more then a small moterboat with a few people fishing. SunsetViews entire property is situated towards the water. Look out and you will see beautiful greenery, wildlife and the most beautiful sunsets. Your stay includes 2 kayaks so you can get out onto the water to explore. We designed SunsetView to offer our guests a space to spend their days outside. You eat outside, you watch movies outside, you hang at the campfire or on the beach. You even cook outside in our open air kitchen and shower in the open air shower. We want this to feel like an authentic camping experience without roughing it. The property is kept natural. We do not cut the wildflowers or trees. There are 5 steps down to SunsetView and there are a few large rocks. If you have any mobility concerns we are happy to provide a picture of this area. We are near a road so you may hear cars and ATV's go by. The road dead ends at the park so traffic is limited. Your small private beach has a sandy entry into the water but the bottom of the lake is soft so we suggest bringing water shoes. We recently installed an offshore swim platform and its a lovely way to enjoy the lake. EAT and DRINK: Gerrys General Store is just up the road and has a small LCBO. Barton’s bistro at Bucks Lodge is our local restaurant and Chef Patrick serves up delicious food. They are closed on Monday. Bud the Spud fry truck is just a few minutes from here and offers fresh cut fries cooked in beef tallow, Kawartha dairy icecream and so much more. Mill Bay Market is an old world butcher. They are right up the road and have a great selection of meats, local veggies and locally made baked goods. They are open Wed to Sunday and close at 5pm. We are located in Northern Ontario and there are bugs. Please bring a thermacell or bugspray. Sunset View is a tiny cabin and is best enjoyed by a maximum of 2 people. We unfortunately cannot host pets.
