Rustic creekfront A-Frame cabin w/loft & deck
Rustic creekfront A-Frame cabin w/loft & deck
Description
Nestled on the edge of the creek on our 10-acre farm is our quaint little 275sqft A-frame cabin. Watch the moon travel across the window from the queen size pillow top bed in the loft. On the main floor there is a pull-out couch for an added guest, a table for meals/games, a tiny kitchen with cold water only & a composting toilet. Outside is a lovely little patio and firebowl right on the creek bank. Watch the birds, deer and fish. We have cows, geese, bees and chickens you are welcome to meet. The space Our working farm is offering Nuthatch Cabin as part of our agro-tourism project. Park your car and walk 10m down to the creek where you will find a lovely little patio on the waterfront and our 275sqft cabin. MAIN FLOOR has a dining table, small pull-out couch (single), a composting toilet and a tiny kitchen complete with: hotplate, bar fridge, sink and the basics you need for cooking your food. The composting toilet is really simple to use (not at all as scary as it sounds!) There is no shower. There is propane heater/fireplace and a ceiling fan for temperature control. The floor can be cold in the winter months and we recommend bringing slippers. LOFT has a pillow top queen size bed and two reading lights. The windows bring in natural light. ***The ladder to get up to the loft is narrow, steep and there is no gate at the top; the loft is not suitable for children or people with mobility issues.*** PATIO has a propane fire-bowl, tiny table and two chairs. Enjoying a drink out here and listening to the creek is one of our favourite pastimes. This is a salmon spawning creek and many animals use this as their source of clean water. Deer, hare, racoons and birds are seen frequently. Otters are shy but also live here. Take a walk around the farm! We have cows, chickens, geese and bees. PLEASE NOTE: -The cabin is considered "rustic" because there is NO SHOWER nor hot water (the kettle heats up quickly.) -There is no wifi in the cabin and cell service is spotty. Wifi can be accessed near our house (a 1 minute walk) -This space is not baby proof and the loft is not safe for children. The cabin is on a high-bank to the creek and children can easily fall in. -Best suited for 2 people. Pullout couch can accommodate another. (you must request this bed to be made up if you need it and are not booking for 3 people.) -"Quiet time" is from 10pm to 6am. (Farm life starts early) -There is road noise, as our property is next to the coastal highway. -Our agro-tourism project also features seasonal campsites throughout our farm; They are shown on the map in our photos. -We have farm cats -Oliver, our orange tabby, visits the cabin quite often. If you do not like cats, just shoo him away. Guest access The cabin has one parking spot out front but we have ample parking elsewhere. You are welcome to explore the farm. Don't be shy! The chickens are over by the tall blue house. The cows are rotated around to different pastures. We do have a driveway gate that we close at nighttime. You will have the ability to come and go at any time during your stay, you may just have to open and close the gate. Other things to note This is a working farm and we offer campsites as part of our agro-tourism project. The barn has a flush toilet for campers and farm workers to use -you are also welcome to use this space. Please remove the lid of the fire bowl before use.
