The Lodge is ready to welcome you to enjoy amazing views of Duck Lake and the Betsie River and easy access to all up North Michigan has to offer. Located on the lake and the river, this property is a natural lodge getaway. A large fully equipped kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining spots allow our guests to enjoy this home away from home. In the summer, enjoy kayaking, swimming and making smores by the lake. In the winter, enjoy snowshowing and easy access to ski areas. Our unique home sits on a private end of Duck Lake (Duck Lake is almost 2000 acres!) as well as 1500 feet of frontage on the headwater of the Betsie River, offering a great option for a natural quiet getaway up north! Our home resides on 11 natural acres to one side and a quiet and peaceful neighborhood on the other. This home can host a maximum of eight adults and two children for a maximum of 10, per the Short Term Rental License number: PSTR 24-051. This secluded lake house is far enough away from neighbors where you feel this little slice of heaven is just for you! A large flat yard with a fire pit and a spacious deck gives guests plenty of space for yard games, bonfires, grilling and relaxing lakeside. Depending on the season, you might see baby ducks, loons, bald eagles, turtles, beavers, snakes, deer and other wildlife. Black bear are even occasionally spotted. Upon arriving, you will walk through a big mudroom with plenty of storage and space for your belongings. A first-floor bedroom is off to the left (offering a queen bed and one bunk bed- top bunk is a twin, the bottom is a full) with a full bathroom right outside of the bedroom. In the living room, the beautiful tall ceilings and wall of windows, centered around a three-story stone fireplace, gives guests a spacious comfortable place to gather and enjoy. Also on the main floor is our large, fully stocked kitchen with an adjacent dining area; a deck with a grill is located directly off the kitchen. Also on the first floor is the private master bedroom with a king bed, direct TV, and large private en-suite. Making your way upstairs, you will find two more large bedrooms. Both rooms are set up as follows: 1 queen bed, 1 full bed and two twin beds, allowing each room to sleep 6. There is a full bathroom upstairs with a shower. Upstairs also provides a second living room area with great seating, a game table, and direct TV. All bedrooms have impressive views of the lake and river. Duck Lake is a large all sports lake with public boat access. The lake is well known for bass fishing. Guest may park their pontoon boat at our dock or further out but please note that it can be somewhat shallow at certain times of the year. We provide six kayaks for guests to use during their stay. Guests can even kayak the Betsie River to Mudd Lake. Please note that our property is in nature and therefore, there are bugs and animals around. Guest should keep the house doors and screens closed. We spray professionally monthly during bug season which helps a lot, but please be aware of this before booking. If you can drag yourself away from the beautiful lake, guests will enjoy the many activities in the area: year-round concerts at Interlochen Arts Academy (5 minutes), wine tours and breweries in the Traverse City area (15-20 minutes), local golf courses, hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes, mountain biking trails and rentals, fly-fishing tours, etc. This is also a great location to enjoy cozy winter vacations, 25 minutes to Crystal Mountain, many local snowshoe and cross country ski trails. Our home is recently refreshed and updated home and always cleaned by a professional cleaning staff. Our cleaners take pride in being current with the CDC guidelines and offering homes left in the highest standards, based on the government's health standards. This home is located in a quiet setting & guests are asked to treat neighbors as if they were their own! Maximum of 6 cars may be parked in the driveway. No street parking available per local ordinance. While our home is large, it is not in a location where rowdy parties, unapproved events, bachelor/ bachelorette parties, or any loud groups are best accommodated. Township rules stipulate that we can only accomodate 8 guest maximum. No outside guest are allowed without prior permission. **Please note during summer months and holiday weeks this rental operates on a Friday to Friday rental schedule. Please inquire for any specific questions! *Home has a shore station for a pontoon boat. Please note: Speed boats will not fit due to depth of water. Please inform owners of all planned boat use & reach out with any questions! Check-In: Is at 4pm (Early Check-in is not possible due to our cleaning crew needing to complete their work) Check-Out: Is at 10am (We are unable to accommodate late check-out, our cleaning service will arrive at the house promptly at 10 AM.) *Please note when booking you will incur the following charges under Required Fees: - Airbnb processing Fee: 3% - Cleaning Fee: $440 In addition, you will also be charged for anything that is damaged or missing after your stay. Guests have access to the whole house except a few locked closets for supplies. The freestanding sauna on the property is not available for guest use. Guests will be able to contact our house manager via telephone or email during the stay. Moosehead Lodge sits at the end of a long private driveway. From the home, you see the lake and the Betsy River. The home sits at the end of a small neighborhood with lovely neighbors. Lake quiet hours start at 10pm and our neighbors greatly appreciate guests who keep the noise to a minimum as sound travels easily across the water. Guest who would like to bring or rent pontoon boats or jetskis can drop them in at the Interlochen park boat launch. A public access road is located right next to the house to drop off kayaks or other lake toys. No parties or pets are allowed at this property and the 10 person limit is firm.
