The Peaceful Pelican is a comfortable 1910 Victorian home full of charm and located on scenic Matagorda Bay. Enjoy the view from the widow’s walk high above the Bay, or just relax and watch the water from the front porch. On weekends enjoy a full delicious 4-course breakfast seated at the dining table overlooking the Bay. We offer a tranquil stay away from the stresses of city life. Palacios has no traffic, no waiting lines, and is full of friendly laid back people. Our third floor offers spacious accommodation that can sleep up to six people Your choice of a king-size bed or two twin beds, plus room for four more on roll away beds Spiral staircase offers access to the widow’s walk on the roof Four cozy window seats, with views in all four directions En suite bathroom with clawfoot tub and separate shower Extra sink outside bathroom Refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, Keurig coffeemaker Pets are welcome. There is a $25 pet fee per pet with a 2 pet limit. Guests have access to all parts of the house excepting other guest rooms. Open spaces include the dining room, living room, sun room, front porch, grounds & succulent greenhouse. Innkeeper does not live on site. From the time you pass through the front door, you should feel at home and completely welcomed. This is a B&B that encourages people to make themselves at home, all areas of the house are accessible. The Pelican is located on the Palacios Waterfront featuring: 1½ miles of paved walkway, many jetties, and fishing piers, 2 boat launches, fish cleaning stations, playgrounds, city beach, BBQ grills and more. Local activities include: birding, walking/jogging, fishing, biking, sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, sailing, kite flying, and picnics. Other things to see & do: visits to museum, library, pavilion, local shops & restaurants, historical markers, & live music at the Outrigger. There is no public transportation, so you might have to drive to a few places. However, the public boat ramp, fishing piers, lit walking paths, and The Point are all within walking distance. You can also park along Main Street and walk to all of the stops mentioned above. There are no indoor cats but there are many outdoor cats in the area.
