This is a recently remodeled detached studio with a stylish and artsy vibe. It has a bathroom/shower, a new queen-size bed, and a desk. The space includes cable television, high-speed internet, and a land-line phone with free nationwide calling, and a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. This guest house is located behind a main house occupied by a family of 3 and a very friendly (and cute) dog named Bruce. You will have your own, private detached structure with a bathroom and kitchenette (toaster, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker). Feel free to make use of the courtyard area between the houses - to relax, or store your bikes. Please let us know if you would like a loaner bike while you're in town - its the best way to get around town and campus. We are happy to provide recommendations for dining or other activities. Just ask! Old North Davis (now referred to as the Downtown Davis Core Area) was the first residential development in the City of Davis. The old sidewalks still show the concrete stamps of the 50 houses that made up "The Bower's Addition." The charming cottages of this era (the 1940s) are built in the Traditional Minimal architectural style - basic cottages with small footprints. District design guidelines have ensured that remodels (like ours) preserve the character of the Traditional Minimal architectural style. From the airport, consider a taxi (available curbside) or the Davis Airporter (group van). Travel to Sacramento and San Francisco is easy with Amtrak trains. The train station is only four blocks from our house. If you're going to San Francisco on the train, you will take the Amtrak "Capitol Corridor" to Richmond, where you will transfer to a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) train. There are several BART trains so just look for the one that goes to San Francisco/San Francisco Airport from Richmond. Service to UC Davis is provided by the Unitrans Bus, but since our place is only 7 blocks from campus, its faster to walk or ride a bike.
